My wife just received her interview date for her AOS interview. It is scheduled on August 31st, in Seattle, WA. We currently live in a suburb of Seattle. The problem is, my job got transferred and we are moving to New York in the middle of August.

What are our options? Of course, once we move, we have to notify of change of address.

Can we notify of change of address and appear for the interview in Seattle anyways (by flying out)?

If not, since our move will be less than 14 days before the interview, could we just wait until after the interview to notify of change of address?

If we decide to change the interview location, that means we get a new date, correct? How far out would that date probably be?

Are there risks involved with changing the interview? I have heard that they may fault us for not showing for the original interview even if we canceled it.

Thanks for any help.

Your appointment letter will have contained a phone number to call if you need to reschedule. Should be in a section titled something like "YOU MUST APPEAR FOR THIS INTERVIEW." Call them as soon as possible, explain the details, and they'll very likely reschedule the time and date of the interview. There's no risk as long as you reschedule in a timely manner. Note the time, date, and who you spoke with.
