Actually, if this guy was you are me, we would have had our day in court to explain why we thought our interest in a badge number ... before the cop has confirmed whats going on is valid enough reason to start yelling at the cop.

Anyone who has had confrontations with cops know, they have an exact process they are trained to go by on these situations, when you try to insist on them explaining why they stopped you or why they are questioning you it just goes downhill as I think happened here.

Why would you need a badge number anyway ....clearly the records will indicate who was dispatched to the house. You need a badge number when there is mass police presence.

... it is painfully obvious you have absolutely no clue what the faculty hiring process looks like; let alone what the tenure and promotion process entails. You might know about other areas, but on this one you are embarrassing yourself. Read up on Gates' publications, resume, etc.... and then say something about him not deserving full tenure... and also how some 1,000 idiots give him tremendous amounts ot endowment money for the Dubois Center

I only wanted to make sure he didnt die not knowing of this great injustice called affirmative action.

Yes that aside I dont know the specific hiring process of Yale in 1975 but I will never forget the everlasting damage of affirmative action.

I will do homework on Gates and I will keep a open mind.

Affirmative Action does not apply to faculty positions. You're searching for diversity initiatives based on merit. Is that also a faux pas in your post-racial USA?

Profiling is common with these cops. You never lived in Eastern Ma? The southeastern MA, the people commonly profiled are asians, blacks, and latinos people (I do it all the time, but, I know it's wrong). In Northeastern MA, they are the latinos, and blacks.

Heck, the cops around here think all asians are gang bangers. A cop drives my house very slowly or the park slowly when he sees any asian around all the time. It makes me uncomfortable to have them drive so slow as to think something is about to happen or investigating me. It's horrible.

If he did call everyone a racist I guarantee he wouldn't be a faculty member of Harvard very long.
