Agreed - don't hate the players - hate the game. Let's leave the name calling out of this.

The OP is frustrated - we've ALL been there. If there is anything that could have been done, any avenue that can be explored, any option that can be pulled, any buttons that can be pushed, any contacts that could be exploited in this immigration process - they have all been done, over and over and over and over. It isn't that we are complacent - it is that we are experienced. We all banged our heads against the immigration wall, especially when we first started this process. I know we wrote letters to the Service Center heads, to representatives, to the head of USCIS (under a different name then!), complained everywhere to anyone we thought could help. Heck, when I started the fiancee process it was still TSC who was doing visas and there was a whole yahoo group started by people who were angry about how slow TSC was! They even protested and picketed in front of the Service Center. We ended up being outside of the processing time which was 280 days then. Believe me, I do understand your process. We then had to wait 22 months to process our AOS, then 12 months to get conditions removed (while CSC was processing them in 3 to 4 months). The worst of the waiting is the feeling of helplessness knowing that your future happiness is in someone else's hands - and you have no way of either influencing it or finding out what is going on along the way. Believe me, I understand!

Go ahead, try whatever you want to do. Write everyone from the President down, go to the media (there was a media flurry about 2 years ago where VJers actually were interviewed on a radio call in show about the problems with getting visas for their loved ones), maybe you will succeed where thousands of others haven't. At the very least you will feel like you are doing something and that helps. I sincerely wish you luck because if you succeed then it will help others. I hope you will understand, however, why I will remain cynical about your success. Been there, done that, worn out the t-shirt.

Good luck to you and your fiancee on your visa journey.

Hello fellow VJers!

I am outraged at the fact that VSC is operating at such a slow pace. In the last few months they have slowed in aproving petitions drasticaly. Our lives are tied in this, our finances, our jobs, future, even our health. I myself I am putting off buying a home and loosing a lot of money in finance charges and the $8000 goverment stimulus because they are moving so slow. CSC is working on petitions from May while VSC is still November and December. This is not acceptable and unless we bring this to their attention nothing will happen.

I know that we are at their mercy but we can stir the waters and write some letters to USCIS ombudsman, to senators, congressmen, even to the white house. I believe that if they get enough letters maybe someone might take a look at this problem and try to do something about it. One: it is our right as US citizens to pursue hapiness and two: it is a service we paid for. If we do nothing about it nothing will happen but if we draw some attention to this problem, maybe something might happen and have them hire more, train more, or at least try to do something to rectify the situation. If we don't write, call, complain they will not act on anything.

Mr. President spoke about "change" lets ask for change in this department!

Ovi, I agree with you. I brought up the unfairness of this process a few months ago and I was essentially told that life is not fair and I had to just stop complaining and take what life gives me.

Even though my petition has already been approved, this is still an issue for me. Let me know how I can support your cause. If you write a letter and send it to me (you can use PM), I will put it on a word document and send it to the White House if necessary (of course, with appropriate changes because my petition was already approved). I do not want to stay silent because I am already one of the lucky ones who passed this stage of the process. I want to support you and everybody who is unfairly waiting too long.

However, I have to say something else. I have sympathy for all those who are waiting longer than many others (for example, those from VSC from February or before). All others who are fairly in line for an approval, you cannot complain yet. You have to wait your turn like everybody else.

Now, let me know if I can help.

Posts inappropriate to this forum and post quoting same have been removed. Baiting is against TOS and so is name-calling. It is not necessary in this post. If you have nothing useful to say then don't say it.

oooooooh I like how the service centers never seem to meet equilibrium. A year and a half ago CSC was 6 months VSC was 40-70 days. Its like there is a war between the centers and the battle never quite evens out.

I know your kind of new here but many members maybe (100's or even 1000's) have already done what you sugested and nothing has changed. You just need to be patient, your time will come. Your more then welcome to write and complain all you want but the fact will remain, nothing will change.

not if we take that attitude!

Doesn't matter the attitude you take. You can be outraged and wait or be patient and wait. You can stand on your head, protest, sleep through it, remodel an old house (worked for me)...and wait. Your blood pressure can go up or it can go down...and wait. You can call, or not, they do not care...and wait.

When the NOA2 arrives in your mailbox (and not before) your wait will....begin again. NOA2 is maybe halfway there (in our case it was a longer wait AFTER the NOA2).

So...choose your attitude. And wait.

Good luck.

Because I want to be able to buy it together with my wife. We will be living in it together and I would like to get her opinion on this instead of getting just what I like.

Thread closed for review - thread reopened after Off Topic type of posts removed.

A reminder for everyone - the OP raised a concern about delays involving K-1 visas and it is posted in the K-1 forum, which is appropriate. I am leaving this thread in the K-1 forum as it is an issue that involves K-1 applicants. Please refrain from making OT type comments in this thread.

That's what we wanted too. My husband did a lot of house hunting while waiting for me, and sent back pics and commentary on what he'd seen. He was able to eliminate a lot of unnecessary viewings for me. When I got here I took over, narrowed down the list even further, and then we made the decision together. The petition never interfered with, nor delayed, the process.

But then again, I was in the military, so I am quite use to "hurry up and wait..."

The whole problem with this thread is that people are trying to DISCOURAGE someone from making an attempt to express displeasure with the K1 process. Why in the world would anyone on THIS board want to DISCOURAGE someone from doing that? Does anyone here honestly think that the process absolutely CAN'T be improved in any way? And I understand that many of you have "given up" and think that we just have to deal with it (mostly people who have been on this board for a long, long time) - but do you really think that EVERYONE should feel that way?
