A contracted assassination probably goes for about $100. Perhaps she wants you to pay for your own death and the extra $10 is a commission fee for whoever arranges the hit for her.

i'm so sad for you. i, too, have loved your videos and travel tales. if anything, you've experienced alot of life during this time. take something positive from it (especially your work with the kids!) good luck to you, and, i'm definitely on your side!

The extra $10 is the difference in currency.

I must be missing a big chunk of the story! Death threat?

In short I got a text that said he was going to kill me and all of my friends. It was written in street Vietnamese in the worst possible fashion.

actually to tell u the truth im shocked. ive watched your life in ur you tube videos and never thought this would happen. im sorry.

anyway, if she wants to prostitute herself she is going to do it whether u pay alimony or not. that would just be more money for her.

Thanks.

She's asking for the last 2 months worth that I told her I would give her. I told her not to ask for it all at once and she hasn't, until now. I told her when I ended it that I would give her a certain amount so she could get on her feet. She's called me every name in the book since then and hooked up with some dude that may want to fillet me.

I have never been to Vietnam but I have seen poverty in India, if someone DOESN'T want to be a prostitute, no one can force them. She can always work as a maid in someones house to survive, and that's no shame.

Don't tell me there are no jobs at all, there could be so many IF she really wants to do, she could be a fisher woman or pick vegges.

Picture is clear, you during an emotional moment promised her to pay some amount and now she wants that every way possible. I am not the heartless type but she has sent you death threats and that's no joke in my book.

But there is another side of the same story, what would you have given her as alimony IF she was a US citizen? I am not much familiar with divorce law but do think you might have gotten out of any kind of alimony with a case like that where the marriage was based on fraud.

Is your divorce finalized? If not, you might see her again at court premises, may be give some money at that time when you are in a secure environment.

Hope you make a sound decision, change your cell number if you have to. If you really want to move on, you have to cut ties.

Oh man. I would talk to the local police or hire a PI to track this guy down and find out all they can about this "boyfriend." Then you can decide whether you should leave the country or take the chance that they won't act out on their threat. Can you legally purchase and carry a firearm in Vietnam?

PI's and guns are illegal here. Both obviously exist here, but if you use a gun and are caught you will get the death penalty.

Then I would weigh the pros and cons to staying there vs. coming back home. If this boyfriend is a true thug, they could follow through on their threat. I wouldn't take it lightly. And even if you somewhere you think they can't find you, you do still stick out like a sore thumb. I don't think it'd be hard to find you if they wanted to. IMO, I think you should get out of there altogether. Sorry man.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

I would try to wrap up whatever that's holding me there, and get out of there as soon as I can. As far as the finance part is concerned, you have already been scammed, but in your heart you still care for her, so when in a safe situation like in the court, or airport before you leave, you can give her some money, then just leave her in God's hand, I do beleive in Karma, what goes around comes around.

Gone but not Forgotten!

Huh? That guy was just thumping his chest. He's probably scared sh!tless that I called the cops , because I told them that was what I was going to do. No one in their right mind wants to go to a Vietnamese jail. I'm not going anywhere Gilbert!
