Stupid question im sure lol but how do you know if you have touches?? What will it say?? I am sooo excited now.. Congrats to you two on getting touches! NOA2's to follow im sure!! Good luck to us all and inshallah(God willing) we will all have our noa2 soon!

If your 'last updated' date on the USCIS website has changed recently then you should consider your file TOUCHED! Good luck, you have a similar timeline to LoveWaits and roughsweet. I hope you all see something soon, because then I can hope to be right behind you. :D

Went to the uscis page and checked on my case status, but dont see the "last updated" tab...... am I just not looking in the right place or am i?

If you dont have touches ur case status date will still say July something...

I made a list of people that have reported touches on this thread. Please add any onto the list if you would like. I was working on it and then the CEO came to talk to me so I had to stop.

I created this using Notepad as Excel does not paste into this box very well. Tabs don't apply either. You must post with the RICH TEXT EDITOR, and use spaces to create columns. If anyone knows how to do it easier, let me know.

POSTER Mailed NOA1 Touched? NOA2 Current Status

LoveWaits 7/09/09 7/13/09 10/1 & 10/2 waiting for NOA2

Yep, Three is quite a success as I hope it means more soon. :D I definitely included Starlight because they bring RFE experience to the group, although I am praying we wont have to see many RFEs!

Starlight has definitely been adopted as part of our group! lol

Do any of you feel a heightened level of anxiety now for RFE's and/or somehow your file taking forever to be approved!

I felt that this afternoon - for like 5 minutes - I thought ... "oh no! oh no! I hope that doesn't happen! " lol.

I'm still super dooper positive! This is soooooo our month!!!

And to CSC ...BRING IT ON!!!!

I have a quick question... When do the adjudicators at CSC leave to go home at night?? lol

Some adjudicators don't actually work at the office. I know. I was stunned to find that out too. It's one of the things I've learned in the HUNDREDS of hours I've spent scouring this site for info since March.

Boxes, batches, piles? that I don't know. lol But they're people who are either retired from a service center or have a lot of experience, etc. There are a few threads around the site with info on this. Like this one...

Just thought I'd chime in here about the wierd times and work hours. Keep in mind that when I worked there the "work from home" option was available for adjudicators. So, what you may have is someone who is working from home, dialing into the server and working thier cases for whatever reason on the weekends, strange hours etc... They may be trying to catch up, get ahead or getting ready to go on leave and want to get all thier work done. You also have people that work 4/10's meaning they work 4 10 hr days and have 3 days off.

So, I think that means it can happen any time. You'll sometimes see weekend approvals on here. I think it's not as much as during the week but it can happen.

And, for people new to the "touch" thing, here is what Gary, a long time member says about that...

My neighbor is a superviosr at the VSC, and though she is notoriously closed mouthed about the internal procedures, she has talked with me about "touches". First, the typical, "clean" petition will never get a "touch" unless it is given to another adjudicator, which is rare. The file will come up for processing, be checked and approved in about 15 minutes. If you get a touch it means something was done with your file but it was not approved. Maybe something was not clear, maybe something needs to be verified, maybe the backgorund check system is down or the response was delayed. There are about 1000 things it could be.

Usually touches are benign, but it DOES mean someone is handling your file (finally) and something is moving. Some people have received approvals shortly thereafter, some have received RFEs, some have received AP while they do a manual name check. There is no way to say if it is "good or bad" except to say someone did something with it. It is out from under the table leg.

Also, bear in mind, the update system online is notoriuosly inaccurate. We never received a touch and our case is still listed as "pending" and my wife has been here more than one year.

I'm definitely of the ANY NEWS IS GOOD NEWS school. Movement of any kind is never EVER bad. And I think most people get their file touched and then approved. They just needed to check something or something. So for all of you who got touched, CONGRATS! I think we all agree that touches, while not approval emails, are sure a HECK of a lot better than weeks of deafening silence!! That almost did me in.
