Ok so I just looked at VSC and compared it to CSC -

and I'm not good with charts and stuff but i'm thinking - it is a good thing that we are in CSC even though they are in slow motion = cause although vsc is moving along - it seems to be quite selective in their process and there are A LOT of april, may, and june outstanding ---and if i was in VSV i would be in the 200+ range on igor but in csc i'm in the 155 range ...

so am i wrong in my analysis? what do you think?

Nope, you are correct. I just got home from work otherwise I would tell you what my spreadsheet there says verbatim. Basically, April May and June for VSC have between 60-70%, july has about 24%, and August 11% approval rates so far. CSC is being much more consistant, with 80+% for everything through May, 60something% for June, and 3% for July.

So although they haven't begun working on July, they seem to clear up a lot of "difficult" cases before moving on. A lot less spotty, so if they were still moving quickly it would be a very fair processing time as they wouldn't be picking through the easy files.

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

I do agree with that. CSC seems to clean up the months before they move on. On the other hand some of the March 09 - May 09 petitoners are still waiting at VSC. I am sure some of those cases must not be difficult. CSC is consistent, and VSC is just random.

Update:

So I just emailed one of the couples who updated their noa2 with 9/23 approval date. I asked them whether they knew from uscis.gov or via hard mail.

They told me that they got updates (I think touches) on 9/23 and 9/24 and they received their noa2 in the mail today - did not know through uscis!

So I suppose that the least we can expect are touches and the final news through the mail....

But who knows! This could explain why it was so quiet towards the end of last week.

Maybe they are having some technical issues at csc...I.e. Uscis.gov website????

I feel good about this and about the 2 noa2 updates today! Yay!!!!!

Good monday :)

I did the same thing you did and they both told me that it was snail mail as well. I also got touches on 9/23 and 9/24. But, have not recieved anything in the mail yet. But, then again my attorney will get my NOA2. So, I have to keep calling them to find out. But, VSC has been sending out email approvals and they do not seem to have a problem. Why would CSC?

You could be right about that. As they have a tendency of doing that. When I got my RFE email update I called their office and they finally checked their mailbox and it was there. The email does not tell you what evidence you need as you need to wait for the hardcopy. That could be the case this time.

Don't rely on the estimated timeline as it could easily move backward as well. Initially when I started it said I would not get approved until October 23 and I got my RFE August 27 and that is when most people were starting to get approved in my month. The only reason its moving forward is being that CSC is taking some long break .

You will get approved really soon I am sure of it.

I called USCIS and they have been no help and tell me they do not have my info on the computer. I will call my attorneys office tomorrow and tell them to check their mail VERY carefully. :)

Thanks again!

Maybe you will get an email. You can also call USCIS, sometimes their updates are more accurate.

At least your lawyer communicates with you. Biggest mistake I made was hire an attny for this case. If I knew about VJ i woud have done it on my own. Although I have decided to do the rest of the process on my own.

As a matter of fact, I called my attny this morning and asked for an update and all I got is : "I can't guess with immigration - they will get to your case when they get to it - for the time being, your case is there and waiting, there is no time frame I can give you"

UGH :bonk:

That's why I'm taking a more proactive measure - I'll handle the rest of this crazy process, and at my 90 day mark, if still no approval, I'll call USCIS and deal with them, and at night I'll send a prayer to the csc gods, etc.

How are you all doing?!!??!

I'm still here, but I'm too anxious to be posting much these last couple of weeks. I've finally given up and have decided that it will happen when it happens. Actually just a second ago I decided that I should convince him to come here in January without or without the visa. Then we can spend a couple of months together and start planning to move to Canada if we don't have the visa by the end of December.

Seriously, if it slows down too much than I might take it as a sign to get the **** out of the United States! :crying::crying::crying::crying:

We're both doing a crappy job of staying positive it seems. ;) OK, until the 90 days are up it is. I wouldn't be able to take my son away from my family anyways. They would probably hide him from me if I tried to leave the country. Just in case, we have a passport for him already.

Plus I just checked canadian processing times and they seem pretty horrible! So I suppose I will stay with this bringing the fiance to the US plan for now.
