Hi everybody,

I just read after work everything you wrote here and, to be honest with you, you are absolutely right about vacations and holidays in America.

Here in Latinamerica we have 3 weeks of vacation per year of work, plus several national and religious holidays, so we make approximately like 4 to 5 weeks of vacation in total, including holidays.

I wasn't so sure about this until I got into the company I currently work at. We work with US people the whole time and we know how upset they get when we say "today is holiday in Latinamerica". Hehehehe.

One more thing I wanted to add here for my fellow July filers is that, I'm really scared about getting a job in the US.

It's pretty easy for an American to get a job in my country (even if you don't speak spanish), and it's easy for me to get a job here, obviously.

But there, even if I certified my college degree they won't give me a job so easily. I know it's just a feeling and not a fact because I haven't been able to demonstrate it, but anyway... that is something I'll be a little scared of when I get there

Thanks for reading!

And Go CSC! Go! We want our petitions to be approved! :)

Hey guys... just got home from work. 9:15pm *shrugs* might as well work evenings, it's not like I have a fiance to spend time with!

Jewel, thanks for the positive thoughts about what the heck they're doing at CSC :)

M and F - I'm so sorry for you that his friends are telling him to stay in Lebanon. Maybe they just don't want him to leave. But you're right. Some support on that end would sure be good!! Especially considering that it only puts more pressure on you. It's all going to work out. It's like Jewel and Lovewaits are both saying... it can get hard, stressful, irritated, etc between the two of you. But I believe the love will see you through.

Hang in there, everyone! We will all get there!

This, of course, is coming from the girl who had a melt down about Igor's today. So don't let me fool ya.

Besides the theory that they are just doing background checks and such to get another large batch of files ready to be adj-whatever, I think it might be possible that they work with a mid-month closing instead of the end of the month. It might explain why they report processing times mid-month.

So perhaps they are busy doing some number crunching. Since there are hundreds of thousands of people in a long queue or lottery system waiting for some difficult-to-obtain-kind-of-visa to be reunited with family, maybe midmonth is when new numbers become available. That would explain what the CSC agents are focusing their time on instead of approving our applications that we submitted only 2 months ago.

Oh how I love to speculate!!

Another morning here in Norway, and I am about to lurk Igor's list. Funny how the first thing I do, is to check the government site, VJ and Igors, tehe. I actually got Wade addicted to the list too, because now he's checking it almost more often than I do

M and F, I can completely relate to what you're going through, although I am on the other side of the fence. I'm the beneficary here, and not 1 person is happy about me doing this or offering any sort of support. Not friends, not family.. which is even more tough as him and I also got a young son.. so I hear all sorts of arguements as to why I shouldn't leave. However, as hard and stressful as this is on me, it doesn't change how I feel. It certainly will not influence whether I'll move or not, and I'm sure he is feeling that way too, you know! I know exactly what he must be going through, just make sure you have faith in the two of you because I'm sure everything will work out just fine! It's just so hard to wait.. and even more so when we don't have any for sure dates to work with .

Aaaanyway, another day is upon us so let's all hope the folks at CSC is feeling rested and fit for action!

Go CSC Go!

It was sorta like that last week too. Almost nothing the first 3 days and then bam, a bunch showed up the last days. VSC (which does need to catch up), has been doing quite a few each day. I wonder if CSC is doing VSC work the first part of the week, then on the last part their own cases?? If petitioners set their timelines to VSC, but CSC was doing some, it wouldn't show up as CSC on Igor's.

Ugh.. I am not having too good of a day here today. I've just been sitting here reading everything you guys write, because it's helping me to feel better. I think I'm feeling depressed because Wade is going home on friday.. just thinking of it makes me want to break down in tears. Silly, but I just hate the fact I will not see him until all this is 'over' I keep reminding myself that I should be happy because most of you are without your partners right now - but still it's so friggen hard! I hate the thought of taking him to the airport - and seeing the plane take off. I usually leave as he is boarding because I don't want to see him actually take off into the skies.. and far away from me. Bahh.. I'm sorry guys, don't mean to dump all of this on you guys - but don't really know where else to vent! Other people simply can't understand the process or what it really means to be parted from the ones you love, you guys however can! It's so irritating for me right now to see couples around me who complain about small annoyances they have with the one they're with.. at least they have someone next to them who can annoy them!

Kristen,

Sorry I'm just responding to this now, I'm sitting here before work this morning with some coffee catching up on my reading of all the posts in our little group yesterday. This one just made me want to send you a HUGE virtual hug. (L)

It doesn't matter how long it's going to be until you see him again. This is your love, your heart. Watching him leave is the worst thing ever. I said goodbye to Neil in July, right before we filed, knowing that because of money and schedules, we wouldn't see each other again until it was all over (barring crazy long delays). It was the WORST, totally agonizing. He told me, and he was right, that as much as we miss each other it's almost worth not visiting to know that the next time he lands it will be for good, so we don't have to go through that again.

Hold on to that, Kristen. The next time you see him, it will be for good. (F)

Aw thank you, Nancy, you're getting me all teary eyed here again (L) I am trying to be good about this, even though my evil mind constantly reminding me of how little time there is until he's getting on that plane. We both wish he could stay here until I can follow him, but it just won't happen yet. It's so unfair how money and schedules, as you say, keep all of us apart but you're right. I'll try to keep my focus where it should be, and soon this seperation time will come to an end! We had a great lunch out today and tomorrow night we will go out for dinner seeing how he is leaving first thing in the morning on friday.. so I'm holding on to the good stuff and time we still have left. How long did you stay last time you visited Neil? Wade keep telling me the only thing that's good about the time apart, is how we keep getting a reunion and first meeting over and over. A slim comfort.. but one nontheless. I think it'll take a long time - and hopefully never! - before all the couples here at VJ start taking each other for granted, huh? Again, thank you Nancy for taking the time to write your reply, it's much apprecited!

The goodbye is so hard!!!! I still can't get the image of when I left - I almost missed my flight bc I kept saying "5 more minutes" before going through security check bc i wanted one more hug, one more kiss, one more look etc.

The good thing Kristen is that you going to practically follow behind him ...maybe in a month?? :) :) I would say ...hug him a million times, cuddle, look into his eyes....and just remember it is all a matter of time !!

Wish him a safe flight!!! :)

Hey all,

I was checking out a thread in the UK subforum for people who are waiting for an interview. One woman had called the embassy in London to see if their packet 3 had gotten to them. It had, and then she said this..

Then he said 6-8 weeks for packet 4 and then 6-8 weeks from then for the interview. So much for being here for Christmas

Sorry, but between no movement, except for BACKWARDS on Igor's for three days, and this... there's a little bit of this going on in my world - :crying::crying::crying:

I mean, that's coming from someone whose case is already at the embassy! Obviously this only applies to a few of us, since embassies are all running on different timelines. But wow did this break my heart. :(

I just know that every other time of the year people probably spread out their travel plans and interviews are requested and desired at all different times. But it seems like everyone who applied in June or July will obviously want to be here for Christmas. And at an embassy like London, which runs an average of two months for an interview.... needless to say... :(

Sorry, guys. Just a real REAL bad moment.

Sweet -

I am having a really emotional day today too. Already cried. mainly out of frustration. Specifically because I haven't seen anything happen on igors.

I feel totally negative today. Called my fiance and cried and just so frustrated with everything.

He did say "he can't wait to see me" ---and it just hit the right spot because he thinks i'm crazy for being this emotional today and that it's ok because we waited this long and what's another month or two ...and really in the big picture i'm sure it's nothing ...but it helps if i were to see some progress on the timeline ....i am tired of feeling like everything is at a standstill.

It doesn't help that a client found it necessary to vent out his aggression towards me either.

UGH. ... i'm really just so frustrated today and it's only wednesday - but it is the 16th - official 60 day mark from noa1.

sigh. :crying::(

LOL Thank you. That was my first laugh of the day.

Here's my HALF educated response, meaning I know what things are called, but not why they're called that.

There is no packet one or two. Packet three is all the forms your fiance will need to send back to the embassy. In London, it's not really even a packet anymore - it's a letter and link of where to download forms. Packet 4 is the letter saying they received packet 3 and giving him his interview date and time. Both of those go to him, not you.

Why they're called 3 and 4 when there are no 1 or 2 is a question for someone who's been around here a lot longer than me.:wacko:

M and F, thanks for the support on the previous thread, that's real sweet of you  I see you're going through a rough spot, same with me and Nancy here too.. I can't help but wonder if this is some mid-NOA2 crisis most people suffer during this process. We don't have any for sure dates, we've already been waiting patiently for so long, we're scared of RFE's and to the boarder of letting this whole thing dominate both night and day! It's not all that strange that we're freaked out and being emotional wrecks right now. And you know what? It's totally okay too! It's not normal for most people to go through what we're doing right now, but at least we're all in on this together AND we are making progress, even though not as quickly as we'd like - because I'm sure if it was up to us, and not the government, we'd all be getting our happily ever after ending already! (L) Just hang in there, and we'll get there eventually!

Nancy, I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with the timeline. I thought London was a bigger and more efficient embassy than the one I got here in Norway. Our processing time is rougly a month, and for some reason I thought the UK was close to our waiting time. You may not have this christmas with your honey, but you know - you'll have each and everyone after this! I know it's not much of a comfort right now, but some years from now this will all be but a sore memory. I don't know if many of us Julyers will be able to spend christmas together with our loved ones, but we'll be spending all the holidays of 2010 and then thereafter together, get married!! - and basically start our new lives together. Just try to keep your chin up, it'll be alright in the end, you know :luv:
