I have a question. The checklist says not to send any of the documents she needs to collect to the consulate. The Ds 156k says to attach birth certificate, divorce, death, financial support, etc. does all of this go to the consulate attached to the Ds156k or are they taken to the interview?

Hand them the birth cert and everything else in person. Just send back the checklist and DS forms.

Hey, good and weird news. Dave had the visa sent to his parents and his mom signed for his passport and package over a week ago. So far he hasn't seen it yet because he keeps dropping by when she's not home and his father has no clue where she put it. POE date is estimated mid to late Feb, but really who knows with that guy of mine. ;)

Congrats! Glad to see people are still progressing.

I haven't been on in a couple weeks, we've been busy between trying to get her driver's license and trying to get our AOS packet ready. Is it just me or is the whole thing really stupid? If anyone doesn't know, the K3 process is pretty much identical to the K1 process except they get the green card after the interview and "congratulations, welcome to America". So why do we have to go through all this additional hassle and EXPENSE? So now I know the answer to the question "should I do a K1 or K3?". Definitely go ahead and get married and do K3. The time difference isn't substantial but the fees are! Plus no additional hassle once your spouse arrives in the US.

Anyway, we're together and really happy. Today we chatted in Yahoo! while I'm at work and I joked about "Wow, its late for you, shouldn't you go to bed?" (as our time difference was 12hrs when we were going through the K1 process torture). So at least not forgetting what we went through lets us appreciate the simplest of things like being in the same time zone! :D

I can only agree with everyone else, that is a wonderful photo of you guys! I love the snow (L) So nice to hear everything's going well for you and good luck with her drivers license too :D

I love coming on here reading about everyone's progress, so keep posting guys ;D As for Wade and I, we're busy getting the final details for our wedding done, after that we're going to tackle AOS. Can't say I am looking forward to it much but at least we'll be together for that part of the process!

Oh and Steve, if you have not yet sent the P3 back, you don't have to attach a photo to the paperwork quite yet. You can bring one and they will attach it during her interview. Good luck with everything, you're almost there!

So Julyers...Adam and I finally received our interview date...3/16/09 in Montreal (March 16th is also my daughters birthday). I'm sad I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure he'll do just fine without me. Such an excruciating wait. I'll be so relieved when it's all over. We were planning an April 9th wedding, but weren't feeling very comfortable we'd make it so last Monday we decided to officially move the date to August 9th...Doh  Oh well. We'll just have the civil ceremony in April and our "this is the day we'll celebrate our anniversary" wedding in August.
