Well, im older than you, but not by much.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I was 5. I remember wondering why the TV picture was so bad. Later missions had better TV.

Sucks my kids aren't likely to see anything that cool growing up. :(

I was still at school, but as I lived in UK at that time it was very late at night when it happened. I was allowed to stay up to watch the moon landing, I too find it hard to belive that it was 40 years ago...

Looking back to that time never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be living in the US, let alone becoming a USC...

Same here.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I was in school and they brought a TV in to the classroom so we could watch it live. I can't believe it's been 40 years!

Were you in China at the time?

I wish my parents had forced to watch the event. I was 4 and have no memory of it. Pretty disappointing to be too young for the landing and dead by the time we land somebody on Mars.

I was not quite four, but I do remember seing it.

Currently, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter is orbiting the Moon, and has sent back the first photos of the landing sites where the Lunar Module Descent stages of five of the six landings are visible, as well as tracks left by Apollo 14 astronauts walking on the Moon:

I watched it at home with mom and dad. I too was a space nut as a child, coudn't get enough of it. I still think that putting a man on the moon was man's greatest technological feat. We went to the moon 40 years ago on an accelerated space program and now it will cost 100 billion and take longer to go back again. #######?

I'm still awesruck at the photo of the earth rising on the moons horizon. Breathtakingly amazing.

Really never was that interested in space travel, a rather hostile environment and was a show that we could outdo the USSR. Was amazing though what this country can do and mostly by private contractors, NASA itself was a very bureaucratic political organization. Electronics was really needed and in a span of ten years, we went from the vacuum tube to the microprocessor, that along is amazing. In 1972, over 10,000 NASA engineers were laid off and the Japanese stole most of our technology, has been downhill ever since. We developed the VCR scanning technology, the transistor, the integrated circuit and they got rich off of it.

Sony got so rich from this was able to buy a good share of our entertainment industry and is controlling our FBI to fine and imprison you if you get caught copying one of their stupid DVD's or CD's. This is the sad but true part of our moon project, can only blame our government for letting this happen, the true traitors to our country.

Only consultation today is that China is severely hurting Japan.
