I was at work, and we shut shop to watch on a tiny 8 inch black and white.

I was in school and they brought a TV in to the classroom so we could watch it live. I can't believe it's been 40 years!

I was not yet born.....my uncle worked on ground control for apollo 11, though!

I was still at school, but as I lived in UK at that time it was very late at night when it happened. I was allowed to stay up to watch the moon landing, I too find it hard to belive that it was 40 years ago...

Looking back to that time never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be living in the US, let alone becoming a USC...

I don't exactly remember the summer of '69 but given my age at the time, chances are I crapped in my diapers when they landed on the moon.

I was 7. That evening (it wasn't until nearly 8:00pm local that Neil exited the LM and stepped foot on the moon) my brother and I went outside to look at the moon. We lived in Langley, WA at the time and right around the corner was the Dog House Saloon. Been there forever. Anyway, Effie, an old woman and quite a regular at the Dog House, came stumbling by and saw us looking up at the moon. I'll never forget her saying as she squinted and pointed at the moon "If you look reeeeeal hard, you can see their footprints". My brother and I just looked at each other and when she had stumbled off we busted out laughing.

I was 11. I watched it at the kitchen table on a small black and white tv. I was REALLY into the space program. I had models of every launch vehicle hung from the ceiling of my room. It was an amazing time.
