Hi Everyone - My conditional GC is expiring in November so I need to send in my ROC petition in August. However, my husband and I are in the process of relocating from Maine to Oregon. I am actually in Oregon now (got new driver license and everything) but my husband will be staying Maine until September/October. So my questions are:

1 - do I need to complete a change of address form?

2 - which address should I put in the ROC application in the Main Address and Mailing Address section? I am thinking of using my new Oregon address for both but my main concern is that most of our evidence (joint bank statements, bills, etc.) would have the old Maine address. I would also want the biometrics to be done in Oregon and when my husband finally moves, I am concerned that we will not get future notices in the mail.

Anyone in this situation before? I would really appreciate your suggestions/advice. Thanks in advance!

You will list any other addresses on the I-751 so that info will be there. My suggestion is file the AR-11 online now and use the new address for everything. Also, the sponsor needs to do a change of address as well. It's a mail in form.

In the form I-751 it asks all addresses you have resided in and you have to give them supplementary list.

(Part 3 question 9)

And here you can officially change your adress with USCIS:

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Fill the form and they will give you confirmation.

I also changed address and included that in my package.

We also included in package USPS change of address order of both of us, when we forwarded our mail.

People move, they do not care where you lived they care that you lived together.

For everything, if you live there and your mailbox is safe, I would use new address in the form. When the real process will be moving, as I understand you both will be there.

Thanks everyone. Followup questions about the sponsor change of address form - 1) is this the I-865? 2) when should my husband submit it - right now or in Sep/Oct (after he moves)? I think the normal assumption is that husband and wife will be moving at the same time, so I am a little concerned about the time gap of our relocation. thanks again!

It's about when your address changes, not when you move. Do them both at the same time.

If there is any question about differing dates, your explination (the truth) is pretty solid.
