Hi all I received a letter containing form I-797e request for evidence. Like the dumb person I was I threw away the envelope. Anyway the question I got is where exactly do I send the information to the Chicago place or Laguna Niguel Ca. I already sent it to Laguna Niguel so I hope its the right place. Thanks in advance

The correct return address is included in the text of the RFE.

You would need to send the evidence and the cover sheet back to the location that is currently processing your case. If we're talking about an Adjustment of Status case here, then that's probably either NBC (Missouri), CSC (Laguna Niguel, CA as mentioned) or your local office.

Adjustment of Status from K-1 (Very abridged version)

05/20/08 - POE: Chicago O'Hare

07/18/08 - Married

08/30/08 - I-485/I-765 mailed...

03/17/09 - Card production ordered (no notification received!)

03/26/09 - Green card received (196 days)

Removal of Conditions

02/15/11 - I-751 mailed to VSC...

02/22/11 - NOA1 (received 03/03/11)

04/04/11 - Biometrics appt (notice received 03/19/11)

08/22/11 - * * * t u m b l e w e e d s * * * (T+6 months and counting)

09/20/11 - Service Request #1

10/26/11 - Service Request #2

11/29/11 - Interview @ Atlanta Field Office - Approved & I-551 stamped

12/07/11 - Card production ordered

12/10/11 - Green card received (293 days)

What have you applied for? Give us enough information to be able to help you.

Thank you all for your responses. My wife applied me for the I-130 petition for alien relative. We got married on January and filled the petition the following month. In exactly 3 months we got the I-797E asking for the following.-birth certificate -a passport - a statement issued by a U.S. Consulate officer saying it was her on the passport-her certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship- and department of State Form fs-240. On the bottom it said the abstract birth certificate was not enough evidence. Well I sent the long form birth certificate and her passport because the other stuff was impossible to get due to the fact that she was born in the U.S. My guess is they only needed the long form birth certificate but I sent her Passport for good measure. I called the 1800 number on there and they said " On July 14, 2009 we approved Form I-130 and sent an approval on form I-797E" I'm guessing this is a good thing. I sure hope it is. So I guess it was Laguna Niguel.

Yeah I figured the only way to figure out was to go on here before my deadline of Aug. 03. That way I still would have had time to send it to another place.

We still are no help to you because you haven't yet told us what visa you've applied for - don't you or your wife know what you've actually applied for?

Alright here's the thing...I came here illegally at 3 years old with my parents...hell I didn't know about any of this till I was older..I went to school and was raised here..So now I think I may be screwed..They may have to send me back, but the thing is I don't know anyone from my home country and I don't want to leave my wife..I highly doubt any of you can help me...It just pisses me off that my parents did that to me..
