Lovely.

The true face of the thuggery and pure evil that is the Republican Party.

Silly liberals dont have a clue.

You can't deny though that this is a new level of douchebaggery (yes, I know I made that up).

This is one of those situations where we all should reserve any judgement until the facts are in. Whether or not he deserted is not cause for him to be violently murdered by a group of extremists.

Yes uncalled for those comments but to go and say the Republican party is pure evil, thats what the eye rolling was about, I know he is being a little sarcastic but still

Well, it's a concious decision by Fox News to give credence to these authors, theorists, bloggers with fringe and extremist views. They can choose to stick to more mainstream sources for news. I think they fail in their due dilligence quite often.

This guy hardly speaks for us very lovable Republicans. Yes fox news wanted to create some buzz as it did here at VJ but the matter of the fact is your not going to have alot of Republicans agreeing with Peters, therefor proving my point that republicans are the best thing that has ever happened to the human race.

I don't think this is a Dem/Repub thing...I think this is an upper military thing. It was bang out of order to say, and not right in any sense of the word.

american only outside of the regionals please :P

Great, another long thread without a single post with any memory of a similar event. The usual blather about some outrage as if it's an impossibility.

"Wassef Ali Hassoun (Arabic: واصف علي حسون‎) (born January 1, 1980) was a United States Marine Corps corporal who was charged with desertion for leaving his unit and apparently engaging with others in a hoax to make it appear that he had been captured by terrorists on June 19, 2004 while serving in Iraq. Originally listed as having deserted, the Lebanese-American Marine was then thought to have been taken hostage by Iraqis who were thought to have befriended him."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wassef_Ali_Hassoun

To be fair, the soldier from Idaho would seem to be an unlikely deserter but there's always a few incidents like this in most wars and peacetime as well.

No, I own the word "douchbaggery" I came up with it when trying to think of a fitting name for this new administration.

Comments : She recived the first notice from Manila on Valentines day. Perfect timing.

The first setback came during the medical. Naty had to do the 3 day sputum and then we waited 2 months for the results. YESSSS>came back negative

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.
