Hi all.

I received my letter from the consulate in Vancouver earlier this week, and I'm starting on Packet 3 to be prepared for the interview.

I just have some questions about the DS-230 form.

Item 25: List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States. (If never, write "never") Give type of visa status, if known.

Give DHS "A" number if any.

Is this just listing dates of just previous visits made by me? I've never gone in with a Visitor's visa, just my passport. Do I then just leave the "Type of Visa" area blank or put N/A? And what does the "A" NO. mean?

Thanks buckets

Sabrina.

For visits to the US, list all the dates that you can remember, even if this means you need to attach a sheet listing previous trips. Many of of us have had to do this. Now, if you lived in a border town, and have crossed alot and can't remember specific dates, just put that at the top of your list of trips which I assume would be on the seperate paper (ie. I grew up in the border town of....... and have crossed many times since childhood. Therefore, I can't recall all the dates of trips to the US. The visits which I do know the specific dates of to the US are listed below...)

For visa type, You can put... N/A Canadian

For "A #"... put N/A (this is the number of the I-94 issued to visitors I believe, but as Canadians we don't recieve these.)

Hope this helps.

Many people have simply put something like "multiple visits from 19xx-present" and never had any problems. However, if you have the time and can recall most of your visits, making a list would certainly make your interview process a little easier. I attached a sheet with all the trips I have made to visit my fiance (they were pretty easy to remember, due to pictures, flight itineraries etc.) and then added a note saying the list wasn't exclusive, and that I have crossed many times since childhood. The interviewing officer in Montreal actually thanked me for the list and said I made her job easier. This isn't a must, so don't worry about it to much. As for the visa part, put none unless and for A number that would be N/A.

Yes

I've never gone in with a Visitor's visa, just my passport. Do I then just leave the "Type of Visa" area blank or put N/A? And what does the "A" NO. mean?

That is referring to your alien number which as a Canadian you wouldn't have received one. Put N/A under the visa type unless the CBP officer stamped your passport and wrote in B2, otherwise the correct answer is N/A.
