I -131 Travel question

Hello everyone,

My husband and I want to go to Canada this coming Oct 2, we are just filing for AOS now and we are trying to fill out the I-131. We got into the part 7 and says that, on a separate sheet of paper we will explain how we are qualify for advance parole. We are just going for a vacation there, and now our question is.. will they will grant out request with that reasons?

You should not have any problem getting advance parole. Since you probably will not have your GC by then have you looked into getting a visa for Canada? We tried that for a trip we had hoped to take back in June and after paying, getting denied, appealing, etc we gave up and are simply waiting for for the day Trisha will have her GC.

If you're successful getting the AP with the reason that you're going on vacation, please post back as you might be the first one being approved with that AP reason, and I bet many other forum members would love to know. Maybe somebody else got approved with that, but I might have missed that forum post.

I followed the instructions on this forum and put "To be determined" for the proposed dates and length of travel.

As to the section on the reason for the trip, I left it blank.

That's what we did and we got our AP.

I do not recommend writing "vacation" though, because they might deny it. If you put nothing, they won't have a reason to deny, they may ask for a RFE though, but usually don't.
