AOS Infopass appointment (file transfer 2x)

We just had our infopass apointment last week, and I wanted to post the results for any one who may be in the same situation. Our file was transferred from VSC to CSC (AP and EAD issued), then the AOS file was sent to the National Benefit Center. Our local field office was able to confirm that the file was complete and on track, stating that the entire process should not take longer than eight months. That means that we should have a decision before the end of the year - perhaps much sooner. The significance of the second transfer was that NBC usually does a "supervisory review" of the file - then orders a green card. If they see anything they don't like, they can order an interview at the field office. We were happy to hear that everything was moving along.

You are most welcome :) I had the impression that the field office was much better informed than the information line folks at USCIS (go figure).

  • 4 weeks later...

Closing the loop here - we did have a successful interview yesterday. No one ever really explained the multiple transfers though. Alls well that ends well.
