At last I got my new 10yr card yesterday in the post! Thank god, I finally feel like I'm halfway free from the system we've all been or still are trapped in. Everything on the card looks good as well they even got my "Country of Citizenship" right this time it now says "Ireland" not "Northern Ireland".. lol@Northern Ireland.. anyone out there hold a NI Passport :rofl: That's what I thought.. you can't as it isn't a country! I'm shocked they made that mistake last time around.

Hey... On my EAD card the country of origin is spelled exactly like this>>>>>> Ussr .... I couldn`t stop laughing when i first saw it.... so, ok... I was born in the Soviet Union... but.... It`s been Russian Federation now for.... 20 some years..... :whistle: AND... even so.... It`s USSR! ALL CAPITAL LETTERS!!!! Try spelling Usa like that :)))))))))

I still have to find out what they put on my Green Card... :)

and by the way.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yes, congratulations. Thats great news...

I remember one bleary eyed flight into NYC I accidentally put England under county of citizenship on the I-94 green form (prior to my living here).

The immigration guy told me I had to put the United Kingdom or Great Britain. Out of curiosity I asked him whether Scotland was OK and he said yes, Wales was OK too.

Yes I know "NI" on a green card is funny.. I'd have accepted it if they put "twilight zone" lol! Sorry to hear that Septembergold.. you'd think an American Government agency of all places would understand that the USSR is no more. I agree Wexford they should just accept UK as the country of citizenship for those who are citizens of the UK? If they were going to let people put in Scotland or Wales as their county of citizenship why shouldn't they allow people to put in England? Then again they put NI in mine without as much as asking me even though I'm not a UK citizen? Anyway I'm just happy is all over and done with! I think we'd give ourselves sore heads trying to figure out how and why USCIS does the things it does!
