We really liked Krabi rather than Phuket. It seemed a bit more laid back, and you can easily get to the islands.

My alternative to Phuket (we did enjoy Phuket) is Koh Samet (of the coast near Pattaya & Rayong).

It's classified as a "park" but is basically built for tourism.

Beautiful beaches, you won't miss the south.

- very easy bus trip from BKK

- been there 3 times, no complaints

- recommend Silversand Resort

- reasonable price, good accommodations (fairly new AC bungalows).

- the roads are poor enough for a good off-road motorcycle experience anywhere on the island.

- stay away on weekends; very pleasant on weekdays as most visitors come from BKK for short stays

Koh Chiang is a bit more pricey, more difficult to get to, but also very beautiful, not as built up as Phuket & Samui.

To late I just order the ticket last night for Thailand could not pass up the price. We still did not book anything got Phunket. But I am not to worried about it, some city's in the USA that happens daily.

I go with NWA most of the time so I have miles.. I pay $700.. the trick to nwa is sign up for WorldPerks then search withWorldPerks option, you dont need miles. after you search for a trip and a date range. click on award calendar. you will see a calendar come up. if you click on the green boxes you an get a cheap rate around 510 to 600 each way.

I have use AA sometimes also.

Never use the site the search for rates of all the airline. you can use them to find which on is cheaper. but go direct to the airline to order.

Look like it will be the SeaView. My wife want to pick the hotel and packages. I am just doing the Air... Air Asian look cheapest...

She called the hotel they told her the weather is not that great and not to come. Nice have a Thai Wife haha
