You know it is wonderful to be able to spend 6 months with my fiance while waiting for our approval. Then after 6 months no response. Come back to Canada. Thank goodness for family that welcome me with open arms and a room to stay in. Work temp jobs for 6 months then back to USA for another 6 months. Still no approval. Thank goodness for friends that are taking one month vacations that need house/dog sitters and a car to drive, lol.

Although all these things work out for me, and I am very grateful - don't get me wrong, but dang. Living out of a suitcase, wondering if I will work this week through the temp agency, half-hourly, daily checking emails and USCIS Status gets weary. We talk every night on webcam. I get to see the plants and trees I have planted (he's watering - not a bachelor's dream, lol); call my MIL to be and chat; see his kids/wives/grandkids on webcam and they want to know if it's snowing here, lol. I miss them sooo much.

I appreciate what USCIS needs to do to secure and protect their citizens, but please when it is so obvious that we are just everyday people, needing/wanting to be together could it not be a little qucker so it's not so stressful. 1.5 years and no response, but we know that our file is not lost or inactive it's just that they are busy.

Just sitting here after webcamming and still really sad and missing my fiance and needed to let it out.

awwww (((((hugs))))) for you, (F). That's such a long time to wait. Has he contacted congress, or a senator? Sometimes they can get the ball rolling. You shouldn't have to wait this long.

Hang in there...

I am really sorry about what is happening with your case! Have you contacted congressmen/senators? USC done INFOPASS? We are all separated from our loved ones during this process I definitely feel your pain! 1.5 years though is a bit ridiculous if you ask me! Keep busy and stay strong and keep hounding USCIS until you get some answers! You are definitely lucky that you are able to spend a full 6 months visiting your SO in the USA and those memories stay with you until you can be reunited for good. Webcams and telephone calls make up the rest in the meantime. I pray that you get the answer you are looking for from this painful immigration process. (F)

Sure they're busy but 1.5 years? That's way beyond the typical wait for business! As the others have suggested, have you taken action and contacted some people to try and get your case moved along? I wish you luck and hope you get everything sorted out quickly!

[i believe it is meant as his kids and his kids wives (seeing as he had Grandchildren).

Anyway, your timeline is ridiculous, the last interaction you had with them was returning an RFE, if your timeline is up to date - yes, U.S. immigration is not a fast process - but a year and a half with no approval is way out of line.

It took less time than that for us to complete and IR1 - the same for most people here.

Have you had any feedback as to why it is taking so long?

Oh yes we have had contact with Congressman, Ombudsman and Senators. After our RFE they said it was taking so long because of the FBI security/background checks on him, lol. Then summer came, everyone on holidays. Then the election in November, so they were behind. Then when I went back in January of this year in April USCIS sent a letter and apologized for the delay but would not be making a decision before June 30. So back I came. The Ombudsman and Senators say that they cannot do anything but inquire, they do their inquiry, then tell us "Yes your file is still active and that's all we can do for you. Of course our Infopass appointment, 2.5 hours there and then back home again, gave us nothing. A call to USCIS last week and "Oh well you are well out of processing times, let me send an email to the correct department and you will hear something within 45 days". I sure hope so.

But what can a person do eh? If there is nothing by the middle of August, we are meeting in New Brunswick for a week, we will have to decide what to do.

Well take care and thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders.

Oh my goodness, my heart feels heavy and my eyes are watering at the very reading of your ordeal. That is totally unacceptable service, but alas we/you are at their mercey. I pray that things speed up soon!!
