I'm confused. Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

So my fiance got his hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail the other day(we filed for k1) and he has sent me a copy soooo.. now what? I downloaded a copy of the packet three from the vancouver consulate website and i've been plugging away at getting the check list done but I'm wondering if I should be expecting something to be mailed to me. Does the vancouver consolate send me a letter of some sort? Or do I just print and fax a copy of the packet 3 checklist once I have everything done.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if theres a time limit between when we get the NOA2 and when I need to get the checklist done.

thanks <3

Yes, you will get a letter from the Consulate in Vancouver advising you that they are in receipt of an approved I-129f petition, and giving you information about what to do next. Since you have a lot of the information already, you are ahead of the game. You should be receiving the information very soon. It will also have your new 'case' number. Congratulations and good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yes you will get a letter from the Vancouver consulate saying that they have received your petition and to go to the website and download Packet 3 from the website! So you are already one step ahead! I faxed back my checklist the day I got it! As long as you have all the supporting documentation ready you are good to go! Don't know if you have done your medical or not, but the only place in western Canada to do immigration medicals is in Vancouver. Here is there website: www.wokingmedical.com, to get prepared for what you will need for that. Oh and congrats on your NOA2!! Your NOA2 has a 4 month expiration date, the consulate will automatically extend it if you have sent in your checklist and are waiting for an interview by then.

You can also call NVC to see if they have received your petition or forwarded it to Vancouver. NVC will also be able to give you your VAN case number if its been sent!
