But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

And this thread is what we call initiation by fire.

I live here in Egypt and I can confirm there is a lot of trash in the streets and walking outside can make you feel like you need to take a shower when you get inside, especially living in polluted Cairo. And I can also confirm that when you go to a public bathroom they sell the toilet paper outside and it's just a hole in the ground you have to squat over.

However, there are also public bathrooms with Western toilets in western places such as McDonald's and KFC, ect... And there are many beautiful places in Egypt that she has yet to discover like Hurghada Marina, and I have the pictures to prove it. :)

As for the person who is getting their green card and going abroad to be with their spouse while they study abroad there is nothing wrong with that and people do it all the time. Many SO's get home sick and go back for visits for 6 months at a time and that isn't held against them. When you have international relationships such as we do on this forum then you have to consider that there are two homes for each family unit. One in the country of origin for those coming here and one for those that were born here. I suspect Waleed and I will have two homes and go back and forth between the two for the rest of our lives, especially if we have children as their Grandparents and extended family will want to see them.

Considering the fact that Israel receives over $5 BILLION a year from us taxpayers, you're sucking on Uncle Sam's teat either way.

Awww, and now here I was playing nice, and you go and wanna make it all poleeteekal and sh!t. ;)

I lay pretty decent odds on this thread getting locked, mod-birthday or not!

Weeel, you know the other thread bit the dust before people could really duke it out....and since we VJ'ers are rude we can't let the mod enjoy her b-day we have to go apesheit on each other and create all sorts of work for Krikit.

But I agree w/ you....so I'm officially 'in like before the lock' :)

I'm in (again) too, hee hee!

As for Vjer's going apesh1t on each other, isn't that part of the fun of being VJ!

With that said I KNOW you aren't gonna let her dis Egypt and get away with it!!!

Being half Egyptian and having traveled there numerous times through the years... she's not lying when she said that Egypt can be disgusting and filty. We all know that ALL of Egypt isn't this way, Egypt has clean and beautiful places as well.

I don't know exactly where she went or who she hangs with when she was in Egypt. Perhaps what she paid for is what she got, idk. I have to say I have seen some pretty disgusting and dirty place in many of my travels of the world....so I am not offending by the OP. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. As for me I'm a lover not a fighter....except when it comes to my family, then I would have to take my earrings and shoes off and slap some vasaline on my fist. :P

To be fair the only negative thing she said about Eygpt was that it was filthy.

Don't forget disgusting....but you know that the actual triggers to the mayhem are pointless....its the resulting melee that's fun. ;)

Warmonger!!! :protest::P

spot on sister..she reported nothing positive about the country and in fact, provided a town by town tour of her adventures there all all places were bad....

They sell the TP in public bathrooms in other countries as well. (even in Europe :o;) ) As for a hole in the ground....another FYI - they're not exclusive to public bathrooms in Egypt either. :o

Oh and for another way of looking at paying for 'toiletries' in public bathrooms, haven't you ever been to a nightclub, gone to the bathroom there's a lady w/ toiletries and the like for you to use and 'tips are appreciated? (Dunno if its the same in men's bathrooms, but I venture a guess that yes.) Why is paying for some TP such a big deal? :P

Hello,

I know I posted a thread a few days back about how I thought that VJers were a bit on the rude side. Well, now I have become one. I wrote my first impolite post today  I just felt so ticked-off, by this guy who has his PR and plans on returning to Egypt for at least 2 years, and who had just spent 10 months outside of the country. Maybe I'm wrong and he really does have a good reason, but I just hate when people don't actually plan on living in the US. I mean, why become a PR, if you don't plan on living here, right?

why do you hate egyptians?

Is this a serious question? I don't hate Egyptians. If it were any other country I'd feel the same way. I've traveled to Egypt before and it has a lot of interesting history, like the Pyramids and Tombs. Other than that it's a disgusting filthy country. Sorry.

You'll have to figure Charles. He's working on his humor. He still in his crawling stage.

:secret: figured it out yet?

I suspect because this is not the common in the US. I don't know about Israel but most places in this region provide some sort of device to wash your back side with so purchasing TP is not the common unless you're foreign and require it. And yes it is common to tip for TP and just about anything for that matter when in doubt. ;)
