To the twatola, who got Marm pissed

you know I have had my moments on this forum when I have run off at the cyber mouth without thinking or looking through a thread thoroughly( alot of it due to the visa stress ), frankly the only person that benefits from that are the ones who looooove to point out how silly, stupid, uninformed you are. As with all threads on this forum read through the whole thread and associated threads ( if need be ) before commenting. just a little research, would have clued you in.

Marm, its only Tuesday so lets hope and pray this charade ends this week. I'm still here cheering you on......

You posted in the UK forum, how was anybody supposed to guess the situation?

Perhaps because a number of people in the UK forums have been following Marm's case with all its up and downs (all of which have been posted in the UK forums) with baited breath in the hope that the US immigration people could prove to be more efficient than their UK counterparts and get her fiance back his passport in time for them both to attend family weddings in Pakistan before they head off together for their new life in the US.

I do hope they get this sorted for you soon Marm /hugs

primahen, Talyss and MonkeyJuice: Thanks for hoping and praying along with us

Well, called DOS today and have concluded that DOS is behind in updating case statuses: The DOS rep told me that today the system has been updated that the US Embassy in London called me (the phone investigation done Friday of last week). So DOS can fall behind on updating statuses....or maybe it is the US Embassy in London that is falling behind on entering real-time or up to date information in their systems. It is a positive thing that they are moving along with our case, just wish that it is resolved by the end of this week.

Also, I did do extensive searches in the MENA forum as suggested by some VJ members regarding our situation. Of course the MENA forums have a lot of information about people that have experiences extensive AP/AR procedures, but we do not fall into any of the categories there (not from MENA, and the US Embassy in London has a different way of dealing with things and processing AP/AR as compared to MENA consulates). So thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Not all of us are phsycic.

She applied for a K1. So something is wrong here.

No one needs to be psychic to read related posts or the entire thread before posting.

And nothing is wrong here. My fiance has applied for a K-1 at the US Embassy in London. I am his fiancee and the one that petitioned for him using the I-129F.

And here is a little lesson that you may benefit from:

K-1 VISA PETITIONER, BENIFICIARY, APPLICANT:

PETITIONER: USC Fiancee/fiance petitioning for foreign fiancee/fiance.

BENEFICIARY: The one for whom the USC petitioner petitions for, the fiance/fiancee of the USC petitioner.

K-1 APPLICANT: The beneficiary/foreign fiance or fiancee who interviews at a US consulate/embassy abroad for the K-1 visa.

I don't think that I should be explaining everything over and over again, especially to those who don't bother to read or research before posting baseless opinions and statements such as

Cease fire!

There is certainly a critical mass of active people here in the UK forum who are up to date with MARM's unique and frustrating case that her message was understood by the intended audience. We eagerly await her next report (hoping it's good news finally) The responses required are more on the support side of the inform and support goals of this web site. MARM's fiance is NOT the first K1 applicant to undergo this sort of extra scrutiny through London, and we have seen enough of a correlation that it is suspected that it is mostly SOP for people in his situation.

MARM, since you are starting new things in August, does that mean that your plans for a trip back to Pakistan before he comes here are shot now too? :(

I'm going to try not crossing my fingers this time, to see if that helps instead. ;)

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

:) Thanks Nik+Heather

As far as my plans for taking a trip to Pakistan with my fiance before his POE in the USA, the plan is still in the works. It's just that during the month of August I will be begin and finish my last round of intensive rotations so I won't be able to commit myself to updating the interview list as I have done in the past. But I will still be around here FOR SURE...don't know what we would do without VJ and you all :star:

Marm Hope you can find some answers soon. Perhaps this is standard for non UK citizens going through UK? Have you found out of any experiences from the Pakistani consulate? is any of their standard experiences similar to what you are going through? I have no answers but though i would brain storm some possible routes to concider. I hope you find answers soon.

Thanks Hannah+Vito :star: But I think that primahen was referring to Boiler in her statement.

London has increased scrutiny on applicants that are citizens of a different country when applying for a K-1 through the USE in London. K-1, K-3, and CR-1 applicants going through Pakistan for the most part do endure a standard 3-6 month AP process, usually longer. But at the same time, foreign applicants in London (including Pakistanis) have not endured long AP times in general. All the ones on VJ in my knowledge only endured about 1 month of AP +/- a week except for the rare outliers such as Sad Eyes and another one that I do not recall at the moment. It is just confusing that they say "approved" at the time of the interview and then decide to begin verifying qualifications and adjudicate the visa just as USCIS adjudicates petitions. We don't know the reasons for him being in AP, but we do know that they are verifying his qualifications for the visa, i.e: verifying our relationship, and I don't know why they would do this, but it seems like a new pattern emerging from the USE London for similar applicants.

That's just ridiculous. I don't know how you're being so calm and patient... I don't know what to say except sorry you're having such an impossibly difficult time :(

So you are saying that he should be jumping up and down or otherwise being inappropriate?? What good will that do?

Erm... No, that's not what I said they should do. At all.

THe opposite of calm and patient is stormy and impatient. jumping up and down or freaking out is what people do when they are not calm and patient. This is a logical interpretation of what you said, in an antonym sense: Being that if a person is not one way, then he is another. Please provide your definition if this still isnt right. We are trying to understand what someone should be doing if they cant be calm and patient

I understood perfectly I think culturally speaking Jeremy's comment was lost in translation some what,

in the UK we frequently say things like i can't believe you are being so calm, but it doesn't actually mean we think they should be the opposite, what it really means is, wow i congratulate you or even you have my admiration or respect for coping so well in such an awful situation,I am not sure I could imagine I would cope as well if i was in your shoes.

Hope this explains things  as someone once quoted on here but i can't remember who, "two countries separated by a common language"
