I need the advice of those that have been in the same boat as me. To give you a general breakdown, origianlly our K-1 was going to be processed in Athens. Out of circumstances beyond our control, my fiance had to go to egypt and we asked the embassy if they would process our applicaiton there. (not for nothing nvc said it is up to them they can refuse) Anyway, they accepted to do our application on 6/28 in which i got the email. The same day I got the email on what documents they needed to process our applicaiton. So my fiance has everything done, including medical just waiting on police records and off to the embassy. Now in the mean time, the embassy in cairo sent me an email asking his address and phone number in egypt..i thought wait a min i already gave it to you but I sent it again. They stated that they had the electronic copy of our application. So (and we all know these pins and needle feelings) I called the embassy. She said that they are waiting the hard copy and should be there in about 3 weeks but they do have the electronic version. I asked her about the approval notice expiring 8/1 she said not to worry about that cause the embassy automatically takes presidence over that approval status.

If they were not ready for us to get all this information together (for our packet) why would they send me an email telling me to have him get it together as soon as possible so they can schedule an interview? Is is true that they will automatically update the NVC2 approval? IF my fiance has everything together before they get the "hard" copy should he go ahead and send it to the embassy? The one email to me says for him to get it together asap and that is what he did. When ya think you got a handle on thing something happens that make you go hummmm...ya know? One last thing does anyone have any tips on how we can avoid ap? IT seems it happens alot in cario. :-( I would appreciate your opinions and advice.

God help all of us waiting for our loved ones. Thank you for your reply

Unfortunately there are not really any tips for avoiding the AP pit in Cairo. Seems like it's just luck of the draw most of the time.
