But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Perhaps the governor will organize another "tea party" celebrating the State Government taking the Federal (taxpayers) money.

... I don't think so either...

It's confusing, because I thought we were 9bil ahead this year....

Either way, Texas is a donor state. It's paid more fed taxes than it receives...

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Do you happen to know what the unemployment rate in Texas right now? It sounds like that has drained the coffers.

Oh, you pulled the spell card - shows you feel you're in a weak position.

I usually don't but I get tired of people who don't know the difference between lose and loose, sorry.

Your statement was that Texas wouldn't need any dough had Obama not mis-projected the peak of unemployment. Explain that, would you? How does a mis-projection of peak unemployment translate into Texas needing or not needing federal assistance?

It's pretty simple. If unemployment didn't increase, there would be more revenues for the state and no need to take Federal money. Haven't you ever had to make a budget before?

Biden admitted they didn't do a good job on understanding the state of the economy and they haven't done a good job at fiscal policy either.

It's funny how some on here complain if states don't take the money and then complain when they do.

Texas with 7.5% unemployment looks better off than say Michigan of California.

Ah, I see. Now I don't know the difference between loose and lose. Excellent. Thank you for educating me.

That dog don't hunt. Regardless of what the Obama administration estimated and how far they were off the mark, your statement suggests that if the administration had projected the peak unemployment correctly, then Texas wouldn't need the dough. That just doesn't add up. Just as a refresher, here's the particular statement I asked you to explain:

Texas wouldn't need the dough if Obama hadn't lied about the rate of unemployment not going above 8% if his stimulus package was passed.

Texas with 7.5% unemployment looks better off than say Michigan of California.

It's "or" rather than "of" here. Sorry but I tend to get tired of people who don't know the difference between or and of. ;)
