It's Not An Option, New health bill would outlaw individual private insurance

They didn't grow the balls to axe fee-for-service. Costs will not decrease until that is done.

I start to get the feeling that if this house version passes, there will be more to fix later than there is to fix now. Thank God for the Senate.

ETA: I am simply holding out hope that the Senate will be correcting some of the issues the House version has.

The Senate is much easier to own and control. If they're our last hope, then it might as well be over.

At this point, I'd be satisfied with something much more modest than being proposed now. Limit the government role to catastrophe coverage, kind of like a health version of FEMA. People will still be on their own for basic ####### but the government will guarantee no one gets wiped out because of a month in the hospital due to stroke.

Good we need to outlaw individual private insurance, medicine should not be for profit period. Those insurance companies are not looking at for your best interest. They are after profittttttttttttttttttttttt, not your health. We have the government for military and I assume you are ok with that, or do you like the for profit military? Private insurance is horrific as someone who works in the medical field, a lot of folks slip through the cracks because of private insurance. I was also in the military and we had health care government style and it works well. Will it be perfect, of course not, but at least when you get sick in the middle of the night you can go to the emergency room instead of wondering if your private insurance will cover your butt, most times, NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. Don't go and get a catastrophic illness, your insurance will boot you to the curve. Don't believe it, I can show you countless of folks who got a diagnosis and got the see ya letter from their precious private insurances.

you failed to mention that the quality of doctors in the military isn't the same as in private sector........
