I think there's a difference there tmma... between dereliction of duty via refusal to follow orders that may or may not be legal... and dereliction of the chain of command based on frivolous belief informed largely on a dubious reality.

Wether you, I or anyone else thinks it's 'frivolous' is beside the point. IMO.

Steven said that Lt Watada was a 'hero' because the Lt followed his belief, went with his conscience and followed his own convictions..... against the grain so to speak, and-IMO-this guy is too.

Lt Watada's reasoning could very well have been swept under the umbrella of dubious reality....I think his reasoning was that the war was illegal; therefore his orders to deploy were. IMO, that was dubious reality...but his (the Lt's) opinion was it was a very real reality one that he was prepared to go to prison for.

Ultimatly- I think neither are 'heros'.

tmma, for the record I haven't been stating an opinion either way regarding this soldier who Orly Taitz is supposedly representing. If you look at the title of this thread, it's about her crazy crusade against Obama. That's it. Feel free to check all my posts for verification. I also have my long form BC I could scan and send you.

What's your long form BC got to do with this guy's deployment? Not to make you feel insignificant or anything, but it's not yours that's at the crux of the matter, is it? Besides, I don't need to see your long form bc to know you are older than me! :P

Thanks for the reply.

 I forgot to add...you need to send me $20 before I show you the long form. :jest:

If you are elected President and decided to send me to war-and if I was doubtful of your legitimacy to do so and $20 was all it took to stop the conjecture-then ok.

BUT seeing as you are not Prez, no one cares about your 'long form' ......

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
