OK...reading the Ramadan thread for 09 sparked my interest in "special' Ramadan foods. We all know what it's like to work 12 hours in the day time and get home by sun down. Who wants to spend another 2 hours cooking after fasting all day and knowing it's time to eat RIGHT NOWWWW? Well, not me! I'd love to see if we can gather enough Ramadan related recipes to make a cookbook.

Anything is fine but I'm kind of leaning towards a section for breakfast and quick healthy meals for breaking fast. And of course Ramadan sweets :) :).

BTW for those of u who don't have me on ur friends list in FB, I'm redoing the original cookbook. I'm adding pictures to as many recipes as I can find. I'm adding the nutritional values (and if possible values per serving), It's all organized, in color, and starting to look really really nice. I don't know when it's gonna be ready but I'll try to keep u posted on the progress of that.

If you've got one of the cookbooks, and you've thought about another recipe that would really fit in well, please let me know. I've opened up the lines for new additions :)

u're cookbook makin' fool

To those of u who private messaged me with questions of how to get the recipes to me. I guess the best way would be via email to amal.cpht@yahoo.com

This way I'm sure to get it. Just put the title as "ramadan recipes" or "sultan's kitchen recipes" :) so I'll know which book to add it to! Thanks

One suggestion I have is putting which recipe belongs to or comes from which country. I don't know if you organized it like that already but I'd be interested in these cookbooks.

Good idea Olivia! And salaam ya Amal. I'm still interested in getting the FIRST MENA cookbook :) As for this new one....just Ramadan recipes? I'm so excited for Ramadan!!! Yeah!!

Yeah the new book will be just ramadan related recipes. U know, Special things that our SO's families usually only have during ramadan OR special sweets for the holiday..OR for those of us who get home at sundown..easy and quick yet filling recipes so that we don't spend 2 hrs after sundown cooking and starving lol!

Then of course good healthy and filling breakfast dishes that are good at tiding us over all day long (or at least stay with us a long time) and provide lots of vitamins/nutritients that will help us maintain good health during the holiday :)

This is what I'd like to see come to fruition at least.

As far as the 2nd version. "sultan's kitchen, the edited and remade version"...I'd like to put the homeland of the recipes but some of them, i just don't know and then there are others that I have the origin but I don't want to mess with ppl coming and saying.."well my SO is from (insert country here) and they make it differently".... so I opted to leave the country of origin out on most of them.

Charles, I'll make sure to tell ya when they're ready :)
