Hey,

I have recently become engaged to an American. I have been here in the US on vacation and I am flying back to England on Saturday to organise ending all my ties there and moving over here.

My fiance is going to file a petition in the next month or two. While that is going through, I am able to be back here in the US on a 90 day non-immigrant visa right?

I then plan on going back to England obviously to apply for my K1 once the petition has gone through.

When the K1 is going through, have many of you travelled to the US on a 90 day non-immigrant visa? Did you have any trouble doing so?

I am dreading the thought of having to be apart from him while the K1 goes through, so I really want to be able to visit.

Thank you.

individuals have been allowed to enter and others have been denied.... Your entry requirements are still the same. You must be able to demosntrate to the satisfaction of the border officer that you will leave.... Tieing up loose ends and ending your "life' in your home country naturally makes the ability to prove that you will indeed leave a bit more difficult.

YMMV

Show evidence of you going back to your homecountry. =] Like a letter of employer etc.

Maybe an idea to first go there, then apply while being there? Just a thought

Love is patient and kind;

it is not jealous or conceited or proud;

love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;

love does not keep a record of wrongs;

love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.

Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

Love is eternal.

What would that letter need to say?

I'll have a return plane ticket.

I'm not sure how the loose ends are going to be tied. It's complicated. But I don't have a job in England at the moment, but I could have a friend who runs his own business 'take me on'.

You'll want to be able to prove strong ties to your home country if asked at the US border.

The letter from employer (printed on company letterhead, signed by your boss or Human Resources department, and dated) should state at the least:

*insert name here* is an employee in good standing at *company name*. He/She will be visiting the US and is expected to return to work here on *date*.

Or something like that.

Also, include proof of home ownership or rental lease, most recent utility bills, phone bills (land line) and/or anything else permanent you might have.

The more the better. Be prepared. Be honest. Be confident.

Good luck and enjoy your visit(s)!!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment
