I think it takes a few months. I got my greencard in Dec and my kids got approved a few days after. My husband filed for them in August. The NVC process takes does not take time if you send in any document they ask you quickly. It would probably take 6-8months. before she gets a gc. You can also check the timeline on the USCIS website.

It shouldn't take that long. The hold up is getting the approval at the Vermont Service Center since they tend to get backed up all year round. But once it's approved you guys can take LingChe's NVC Shortcuts so you can make the process at the NVC go by faster, which should take a little bit over a month, without the shortcuts it can take more than 3 months. After that process is completed, the NVC makes the appointment with the US embassy and that's it.

Why if you had the K-1 does your daughter not get the follow to join K2? You can jump on it now if I am not mistaken. Ask in the philipines forum for more info on the follow to join. I see by your timeline you received your visa in Nov 2008 so there is time to apply for her to follow to join.......

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

It looks like your daughter may still be eligible for FOLLOW TO JOIN... This "benefit" can be used up to one year AFTER the K-1 is issued. The K-2 needs be issued before the one year anniversary of the K-1 issuance.

Thanks everyone. First of all I would like to say that I really want her to get K2 Visa because it's easy for me to do that but my husband said he want her to have a greencard without apply for anything when she came over here.

It's hard for me because I don't know about I-130. I search for information and do all the paper by myself.

My daughter just turn 3 last month and she still stay with my mom in Thailand. I wish I can take her here in a couple month.

If you guys have anything to advice me. Please feel free to talk with me. I need all your help.

WHY? This is a tough one because to file the I-130 for her you are looking at anohter 9-12 months barring any complications. Speak to your husband. Yes it is less expensice now that you have alreay adjusted status to gp the route of the I-130 , however it is time away from your child

and she can be here by November with a greencard by say March/April if you file immediately

or

She can be here on an CR/IR visa, she can be here maybe by March/April with her greencard....

Difference is time away from you in exchange for a few $$$$

She is in school right now (Finished in a couple month) and my mom doesn't want her to leave the country yet.

I have no choice and I think it's a good idea to get everything ready for her by I-130.

I met her on her BD by AP ( I used it already. Can't wait for greencard to meet her).

We plan to move to a bigger place then everything will be ready in a couple month from now

( I wish it's same time as her case been approve)

After her case approve I'll go back to Thailand again for her medical and interview.

I know it's hard to stay away from my child but I really want everything to be ready for her.

I want her to be happy and we plan to have a long vacation after she came over.

Thank you guys. I know you really want me to stay with her as soon as possible.

Rin came to the USA (K3) in April 2007, and her children stayed in Thailand attending school until October 2007.

Rin and I planned a trip to Thailand in September 2007. Prior to our trip, I contacted the embassy regarding K4 visas and they said to send in the P3 info for them. Did that along with a request for the interview the last week of September. They called us and confirmed the date; went to the embassy and the only questions asked of the children were "Is she your mother?" and "Do you want to go with her to the United States?". Only cost was the medical and the visa fee in Bangkok (same as for your K1).
