Walking in for biometrics in Metarie Louisiana

The "kids" just got the biometric appointment letter and it's a very bad timing, as it's shortly after he classes up in Navy speak. I see where Metarie, LA allows active duty military to walk in, but does that apply to their spouses too? It's a three hour drive one way for them, and he certainly does not want her to try and go to this strange city alone. I wish they would have received the letter last week, and then they could have just walked into the office a couple of miles from our home while here for his sister's wedding.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I told him to just to go, but he'll be really unhappy if they won't take her.

luckily the office isn't in new orleans so they at least won't have to deal with the insane traffic on the way! i don't know about the military aspect but i would advise him to take her too, if they can't do the walk-in then they should go to new orleans and try and enjoy themselves.

Thanks! The question has been answered. They went today, since his intense schedule starts Monday, and will last for a few months. They weren't going to let her in, so then he told them he was military, showed his ID and she got her biometrics - whew! ( I would have been in the dog house). They called me prior to leaving because they had found some contradictory information, saying that Metarie wouldn't take military walk-ins. I encouraged them to go anyway, so am glad it worked out. Hopefully this won't speed the process up, as they don't want the green card to be issued before their second anniversary. Strange words, I know

Even when he was just three I considered Metarie pretty urban :-)
