:star: can we file my AOS even if i dont have my SSN yet? (we just applied for my SSN today. our packet is ready for filing). can i just attach the reciept the ssn office gave me to prove i already applied.

:star: the amount we will pay is 1010$ (for AOS, EAD & AP)and nothing more?

:star: how come my status in the immigration is (EMPLOYMENT IS AUTHORIZED)..the lady from the ssn showed me n we r confused with this. If i havent filed employment authorization yet ?

:star: my husband's anual income for 2008 n 2007 met the poverty lines (actually way above n he has a stable job right now) BUT his 2006 anual income didnt met it. will it be ok? or do we need a co sponsor?

THANK U FOR THE REPLY. VJ has been very very helpful and i feel very lucky to find this site... God bless u all

1) If you don't have one one the day you send it off, just mark the box "None" (rather than N/A) as that's completely accurate. It's not required.

2) Assuming you're in the age range where biometrics are required (14-79 years inclusive, I think) then yes, $1010.00

3) It's because K-1's are considered work authorised by the SSA for the sole purpose of getting an SSN if they need to (a handful of locations require both parties to have an SSN to get a marriage license even if they're foreign citizens). See here for recent discussion about K-1's and their work-authorised versus not work-authorised status.

4) I'll let someone who knows more about the ins and outs of co-sponsors answer that one fully but I will say that exactly that situation applied to us and we were fine without a co-sponsor - we just provided a recent certified employment letter demonstrating income over the 125% in addition to the the tax returns and stubs, etc.

1. Yes you don't need the SSN.

2. Thats right.

3. Your authorized so that you can legally get a SSN you'll need your EAD when you get it to actually start work.

4. You should be fine, I didn't make money in the USA until late 2007 as I was working in the UK beforehand and they accepted mine.
