We got an email on Jul 4 for my wife's EAD - 'On Jul 3, 2006..... we ordered you a new card.....' Then we got another email this morning - '.... On Jul 7, 2006 as approval was mailed...'

Is this how they usually do it - order the card and then send an approval notice?

K3, AOS

01-19-06 - Mailed I-129F to NBC

04-28-06 - Arrived in Los Angeles

12-11-06 - AOS Interview at Santa Ana, CA - Approved

12-22-06 - Received Green Card in the mail

Removing Conditions

09-15-08 - CSC received I-751

01-06-09 - Received Green Card in the mail

Citizenship

10-05-09 - Mailed N-400 to Phoenix

11-04-09 - Biometrics

01-12-10 - Interview at Santa Ana, CA - Approved

02-19-10 - Oath ceremony at Pomona, CA

03-11-10 - Received passport

Congrats on the approval.

I wouldn't worry about the order you received emails.... just be happy that your card is on it's way!!!!!

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

I received exactly the same emails (even with the same dates) in the same order. I decided not to even think about it, just go out there job hunting! YEY! :dance:

I had the same experience.

Dont expect the approval letter, it wont come. But your card should be arriving soon!! Congrats!!!

(anyways, who cares about a letter... at this point everyone wants a card!!!)

My guess is it reflects the fact that they approve your EAD and send you an immediate email and order your card, but then it takes a day or 2 to get that to the mail room, where they send out your paper approval notice. just a guess :whistle:

09/07/2006 - I-485 interview...APPROVED!!!...passport stamped (DAY 70)

09/12/2006 - I-131 approved (DAY 75)

09/13/2006 - received welcome letter via mail

09/15/2006 - I-765 approved (DAY 78)

09/16/2006 - received AP via mail

09/18/2006 - received conditional green card via mail

09/21/2006 - received EAD via mail

07/23/2008 - filed I-751 to lift conditional status

07/28/2008 - NOA 1

08/26/2008 - biometric appointment

12/03/2008 - I-751 approved

12/08/2008 - received 10-year green card via mail

09/07/2009 - eligible for U.S. citizenship!

Congrats!!

I never got my approval notice so I called and they told me that the approval notice is the piece of paper that the card comes attached to so just keep that for your records.

K3 Timeline

Oct. 12 2005 Applied for K3 (Day 1)

Jan. 9th 2006 Received packet 3 (Day 89)

Jan. 19th 2006 Sent back packet 3 (Day 99)

March 20th 2006 Received packet 4 (Day 159)

April 20th 2006 K3 Appointment in Montreal (Day 190)

April 21st 2006 Received K3 (Day 191)

April 22nd 2006 Arrived in Florida!!!!! (Day 192)

EAD Timeline

May 3rd 2006 Chicago receives my application (Day 1)

May 8th 2006 NOA received (Day 5)
