I have been reading through this website quite a bit today as it is my day off ...

I am curious if others here have met their fiance or SO through a relative? And if so did you have any issues along the visa journey because of this?

I will give you a little bit of how my fiance and I met ...

I met my fiance through my father and his wife ( Who is filipina ) ... my fiance and his wife are first cousins ... initially they gave each of us each others yahoo ID's were we have talked every SINGLE day since that first day ... I assume they will look at our case more closely because of this? I would have enough faith in god and the people working at the embassy's to be able to see our love for each other is unbelievably true and committed so I really don't have any worries about this ...

Anyone else here have a similar situation, if so what was or has been your experience so far? For me I wouldn't have it any other way .. I am happy and feel blessed I met her the way I did ... she is amazing.

Thank for reading and any replies !

All I can say is fate and destiny my dear. If you believe in these things, then you are hopeless romantic like me albeit husband and I didn't meet like you did. When you and your fiance met through relative's intervention, there's always the possibility that your story can cast doubts among the US embassy folks who are involved your case. Be that as it may, you have to convince them the love that you have for each other is beyond the shadow of a doubt. :star:

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

I don't think it really matters so much how you met. What really matters if you are going to be filing for a K-1 Visa

or Spousal Visa for her to come to the US is that you highly document the relationship. (i.e. Yahoo Chat Records, Phone Call Records, E-Mails, etc.) print these out regularly and save them. If you visit her, keep all airline ticket records, hotel receipts, copy passport after you return to show where it was stamped. and most of all pictures!!! Take lots of pictures with you and her and the family as well with you & her in pictures. Do not through anything away relative to your visit. You provide all this in proper format to the embassy and you should be good to go. By the way, have a lot of patience as this can be an arduous and lengthy process. We congratulate you and wish the both of you the very best.

i know someone who works inside the embassy and she once said " theres no right or wrong answer, only the truthful one". i believe as long as youre honest and can show them proof, documents etc showing a bonafide relationship, then you should be ok.

hey just remember one thing in mind

that the yahoo messenger proof is for the long distance relation

u have to show the proof being together to the CO, it means u have to do more work on the proof when u r together.

good luck

I met my wife through her family here. Her cousin's wife is my good friend's cousin. Most of my friends are Filipino. It made things easier, since I did not have to worry about fraud. Also it meant that her parents approved of me before I met her. Also my first trip to meet here I went with her family. Then when she got here, she had family here already. Also she has many relatives on her mothers side in Oahu. She had no problems with getting approved.

Ahh yup we already have 150-200 pictures together with her and her family ... we both have a copy and I sent a set in with the petiton as well .. as well as hotel receipts where here and I stayted together .. itenery and all that good stuff we defiantly have the evidence I believe ... we talk on yahoo chat and cam 2 hours every day .. chikka txts in the morning before I go to work and I call her as well quite a bit .. so we have all that for showing the bonafide ongoing relationship for the interview ... we talk ALOT everyday so I think we have plenty of evidence for that.

Thanks for the replies everyone ..

I met my fiance now husband thru my sister's husband, my husband and now brother-in-law are best friends.

All I can say is as long as the relationship is genuine there's nothing to worry about.

There are case here that's has been denied cause they have some issues.

Nothing to worry I can say. As Long as you have a genuine relationship.
