*waits and waits some more*

The last update to my online cases were 8/25/2009... We should be getting the EAD card or letter for interview sometime soon I hope... but it's not here yet and ooooo the waiting is starting to get to me.

The second I drive into my complex I immediately run over to the mail box doing the "oh please, oh please, let there be a nice envelope from the government" chant...

I'm sure this is the only time in my life I'm going to be chanting that particular mantra, but it's there nonetheless!

Congratulations to all of you who are moving on up in the process. Those of us still waiting can bask in your positive news.

Grats to everyone! This is good ju ju for the rest of us!

We met with our lawyer yesterday to have our "pre interview preparation" ... just a sad excuse to justify the outrageous amount they charged us! :) But, he thinks all will be well and can't see why they won't approve us on the spot! *knock on wood*.

Now I'm just preparing all the documents and things to bring with us... the lawyer actually annoyed me cause he kept asking questions like "do you guys have any joint property together, cars etc" ... I'm like...dude he just got a social 2 weeks ago... you think we went spend crazy in 2 weeks??? Same thing with utilities... I'm like, helloooooo you can't add someone to utilities without social and even then most of them don't want 2 people on the bill.

So, we've actually got a joint lease (the leasing company actually added him on my lease without a social when we moved in, so that was good!), joint bank account and joint health insurance. I hope that's enough. I am going to try and get him on my beneficiary stuff now but my HR department in my company is just rediculous. I work for a small consulting firm and they are so confused about making major changes to things...

Lawyer also wants him to get a drivers license before 9/15... hehe... hubby drove in his home country but he's not the best at studying! So, having him look at the Virginia drivers manual now. :)

I can't wait for this to be over!!! :)

Lechat, sounds like you guys are really prepared and I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors! We had same issues with the SSN but just had to rely on other items like auto insurance, beneficiary, etc. and it was all good. You guys will do great!

Got my Interview appointment on 10/08/2009, and also got my two copies AP.

YEAH!

Woo hoo! Interview notice! Yay! We also got two AP's. I thought it was odd but our IO said that is ok.

Our interview is on the 29th. I didn't expect this process to be so quick!

I know! Ours went super fast! Ryan got his green card today! Yippee!! It was only 76 days start to finish for us!

Good luck on your interview today!

Congrats, Regina! I'll have to go read your experience.

Thanks! I think we'll be fine too... but still of course have the nerves! I have prepared 3 manila folders with stuff. 1. Has our personal stuff like original birth certificates, my divorce decree, W-2's etc... 2. Has all the USCIS papers we got and our "proof of intent" just in case they ask for it! 3. Has all of our backup... I managed to get: joint bank account, joint car insurance, joint health insurance, copy of our lease, and a few cards we got for our wedding and a post card that his family sent to us from Denmark.

I also did something neat with the pictures... I went to Target and they have this option of printing pictures in a "collage".... so I had 4 pictures printed up on one 4 x 6 sheet that I can give them. They were only .95 cents a sheet. So, I did 3 sheets... so that's 12 pictures they can keep. I also put together a photo album that has the regular prints and a lot more than 12.

I hope I have everything I need... I just keep thinking I've forgot something.
