When Ryan went in, did they ask him why he came early?

Our MSC numbers did not pull up online or using the toll-free number either. Others on this site said that sometimes you will never see your case online and to wait for the snail mail may be your best bet. Some said they got notices in the mail that didn't show online until weeks later. I guess it's just behind for some cases.

Ryan was able to get his biometrics done early. We were assigned to the USCIS in Goleta, CA and the appointment was for July 28 but he went today (on his way home from Los Angeles since Goleta is still 90 miles away but on the way back from his school in Los Angeles) and they took him and he was in and out in a matter of minutes. Yay! So we were able to save a few days!

No, they didn't ask him why he went early. Just took his id and letter. Said he got fingerprints and a photo taken. He said it was very easy. He also verified that we are in the Los Angeles region for interview (we live half way between LA and San Francisco so sometimes they call us southern CA and sometimes northern CA).

Well, we just got a request for initial evidence. Apparently our joint sponsor didn't include proof of US citizenship or proof of his current income, only old tax returns showing an income which was apparently too low. Plus, now they want proof of employment and pay stubs from him, and he's self employed. I could :bonk: myself for failing to look over his paperwork too, but we were pressed for time, and I assumed he knew what he was doing.

We (my husband and I) filled out our paperwork correctly (it's not that complicated), but our joint sponsor didn't. Bottom line is, I guess, don't trust anyone else to get the importance of this stuff, and if you have a joint sponsor or anyone else filling out paperwork for your application, go over it with a fine toothed comb! I would be even less inclined to use a lawyer f I were to do it again.

It is SO HARD a find a joint sponsor that is someone other than your parent. I was lucky that My wife found a $30,000 job right before we got married.

Well everyone has their own opinions I guess... I wouldn't do it without one personally but that's just me. And we felt it was complicated enough to warrent doing it that way. We have so much going on in our lives right now that it gives us great piece of mind to know that the legal support is there.

Keep us posted, I hope you get your joint sponser paperwork fixed!
