Crosslink to an idea that may help keep trolls out of OT and the mods not too busy busting trolls. and

How much of this can be automated applied to other parts of the site depends on what the Capt. decides is acceptable for the site.

I don't know...most of the trolling in OT is done by legacy members.

i think you guys missed the gist of ewoks post.

**OT translation**-quit flinging poo in the immigration and regional forums. he is tired of it & he warning us not to do it.

I know that.

Some sites do control that too. Poor mods and all that extra useless work. I just think that the mods could focus on addressing single issues once per user instead of having to hunt multiple accounts over and over again. Less work- better moderation- less abuse in OT (and everywhere else).

Oh I get it trust me. My belief is that you can have automatic controls across the boards so that infantile behavior can stay here in OT since... this is the place for it within the terms of the site.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

UH OH I guess that means when baited not to bite? Hrd but will give it a try. I understand how this can hinder the new comers, however so many open up say 3-4 thread with the same question, it gets pointed out that one is enough and memebers once they know will be more than happy to jump in. When brought up in a civil manner it gets taken out of context. No I would not like the job as MOD I have enough on my plate and I do respect them for there time. Got the point Capt..

And the trolling has got to stop, also member names shuld be monitired to some extent. How can I think some one with the name Taliban Killer is legit? This was a rough one for sure :)

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

One thing that would help is to have a simple, "Was this post helpful to you?" voting by a thumbs up or thumbs down. People can comb through the thread and see which posts provided the most helpful information by vote.

Simple... yet elegant.

I also wonder about professional trolls. You know, folks that have NO immigration process pending at all and post moronic threads. Is there anything to be done about those?

These words soothe me.

everybody will agree that captain is right, start behaving better for a while and then back to normal. just like a 5 year old that has to be kept reminded that his behavior is unnacceptable.
