Hopefully this is my last USCIS form to fill out.

N-400 isn't that clear.

For one in 6 A do you just leave it blank where it ask where you currently live as you already filled in 4 A?

Next 6 B and Part 7 doesn't allow for those filing in 3 years.

Do they want ALL places worked for the last 5 years or only where you worked since you've been in US?

HOW MANY TOTAL DAYS HAVE YOU SPENT OUTSIDE THE US IN THE LAST 5 YEARS.

You'd think USCIS would have their act together a bit more.

Most people do not realize that you need to provide a list of all dates and places travelled outside the U.S. for the N-400.

Thankfully, I had read that and kept a spreadsheet for both myself and my daughter of all the dates we both left the U.S.

If you interpret this literally my wife spent 720 days outside the US before she came here.

They are looking for days spent outside the U.S., since becoming a permanent resident.

You have two options.

1) Cross out the five, write in "three" and list the total days outside US for the past three years

2) Take the question literally and put the total number of days outside the US for the past five years, but include a separate statement explaining this and giving what the total number of days outside US would be for three years. If you give them both figures, then they can use whichever number they want.

I did option 1) above as jsnearline wrote for total days outside the country.

For the rest of the form I answered for 5 years, even though I've only been a PR for 3 years, because frankly they already have that data in the AOS application.
