Actually BY and I have been going at it for a lot longer than you have.

Its hilarious to read constrasts with Australia (no matter how tenuous) shoehorned into every conversation - as though prior to the 1960's America was the lost city of Atlantis, before the oceans swallowed it.

Thank you for the clarification Pike.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I find it annoying when I read other people do it, for pages and pages, seriously, I do. However, I accept that they are entitled to do whatever they want within the terms of service. It is perfectly possible to skim over posts one finds irritating and get to the ones that are of interest, I am sure you do it every day, as to I :)

But of course.

Only that even annoyance would be far too much credit for the parties baiting the rest. Sometimes I am amazed how much leniency there is here regarding that rather conspicuous and consistent violation... but it isn't helped when we take what they offer, thereby legitimizing their weird desire to be given the attention they aren't getting elsewhere if you know what I mean.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

As long as Right Wing Nuthouses like World Nut Daily continue to harangue over such banal non-issues, their sheep will follow.

And where the sheep go... so does Scandal.

I imagine he's out in some orchard right now, tending to his sheep.

Credit where credit is due, pages of annoying ####### that must be skimmed over perturbs me for a few nanoseconds every day ;) Talking of annoying, where the ** is A.J today?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

THAT should be the question on everyone's mind today.

As for that nsec annoyance... I'd not even give it that much credit. More on the femtosec scale for making us scroll. Of course there is the undoubtable stench of BS... but we're all guilty of that from time to time. My belief is that the more we push those bellies to expunge... the more crapper we have to deal with.

1. Hawaii issued birth certificates to people not born the state.

2. The president of the US cannot just be a citizen, s/he must be born on US property. This was te issue that settled the case of whether McCain was qualified to be president. He was born outside of the US, but in a US military hospital. Obama would not be qualified if born overseas, as a citizen, but not on US property.

3. Obama has refused to release his student records for college and grad school. They may show that he applied as foreign student. If there are no problems with them, why not release them?

4. Obama is known to have traveled to countries that were off limits to Americans on an Indonesian passport when he was Barry Sotero.

5. He attended a school in Indonesia which registered him as an Indonesian citizen.

In addition, there is no evidence that his parents were ever married or divorced, as he has claimed. Recently, he told a graduate class that he met his wife in class, where as before, in his books and interviews, he said he met her at a law firm where they both worked. The man should not be allowed to get away with lies simply because some don't care about our Constitution.

The reason why this won't go away is because the media wouldn't question these facts, and because those who will question them will not stop until they are allowed a legal venue. I'm just glad that not all peopel are irresponsible about the qualifiations for the presidency.

Were the guilty parties prosecuted?

2. The president of the US cannot just be a citizen, s/he must be born on US property.

Where in the Constitution does it say that?

No, the requirement is that the president must be a "Natural Born Citizen". That phrase is used in the Constitution, but it isn't defined anywhere, and hasn't been the subject of a court ruling, so anyone claiming that it means "born on US property" is full of it.

McCain's birth on a military base does NOT mean he's a US citizen at all, much less a "Natural Born Citizen."

According to the Department of State Foreign Affairs manual, http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86755.pdf

Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth.

No, the reason McCain was a "Natural Born Citizen" was because he was a citizen from the day he was born, i.e. he didn't have to be naturalized to become a citizen. And he was a citizen from the day he was born because he was born abroad to US Citizen parents who had spent the required amount of time residing in the US prior to his birth, per INA 301.

In addition, there is no evidence that his parents were ever married or divorced, as he has claimed.

Careful, you're about to make Obama a Natural Born Citizen in spite of yourself. If you assume (falsely, but let's go along with it) that he was born abroad, then you should remember that, if his parents weren't married when he was born, then he would have clearly qualified as a citizen from the date of his birth via INA 309©. ONLY if his parents were married at the time of his birth would the stricter requirements of INA 301(g) apply. For children born out of wedlock, all that is required is that the US Citizen parent have been physically present in the US for a period of one year. For children born to married parents, the US Citizen parent must have been in the US for 5 years, at least two years of which must have been after the parent's 14th birthday. I'm not sure why the law reads that way, but such is the wisdom of Congress. Anyway, Obama's mother was too young at the time of Obama's birth to have transmitted her US citizen to a hypothetical foreign-born child if the child had been born in wedlock. But if she had given birth abroad to an out-of-wedlock baby, that baby would have been a US Citizen from birth.
