most of the people posting in this thread have no idea how complicated the matter of barry's eligability is. hell, i don't even understand all of the details, and can't remember most of them that i've read. i would need to outline the questions on 5 pages single spaced to consider them.

when barry entered the race, he prolly showed that piece of paper to some fellas who had less understanding of the legal intricacies of the question than the average person has today. they decided it looked like a birth certificate, without really knowing what to look for. momentum built, and it all turned into one big juggernaut before anyone began to question.

the political machine is getting what it wants, for the most part. "the company" is getting what it wants, for the most part. the scotus doesn't want to rock the boat, and has refused to be an axis under the lever of fate. nevertheless, people are pulling on the lever, and finding fulcrums from time to time.

trouble is, the snowball is damned big. with enough weight on a long enough lever you can move it, if you can find a strong enough fulcrum. the story related in the orignial post relates hope that one has been found.

i have a "certificate of live birth" issued by the State Of Maryland in 1964. it was good enough to get me into school, and everything thereafter, until I tried to get a passport. it was rejected at that point, and i had to get a real "birth certificate" from vital records. luckily, i qualified for one.

the difference is that what you posted could have been given to a foreign born in 1961.

what you posted is a 2007 certificate of live birth. it is not a "long form" birth certificate.

I was born in Alabama and for purposes of my military service and security clearance, the United States Government readily accepted a similar certified document from the Dept of Vital Statistics of the State of Alabama as proof of my citizenship and birth. What has been provided is more than enough proof for me but I guess I am just one of the lambs...

I wouldn't be surprised that if Obama was an older white guy, his citizenship would even be quesioned.

Obama is the president as voted by the US population. People who are bitter about him being elected will always find something to question. It's funny how if someone went against Bush after 9/11 then they were 'traitors' to the US, yet it is perfectly acceptable to 'hate' Obama so much that a US Army Major refused to go to a war because he does not consider him the president.

In regards to the Major, his orders were revoked, he was released from the Army National Guard, he has been banned from Government property, and since his main job was a contractor at the Pentegon, he has lost his job and his security clearance - at least there was some justice in this.

actually, john mccain's citizenship was questioned, and verified in a congressional hearing.

obama won by a narrow margin (<3%). when you take out the dead people and the illegal aliens that have already been identified as registered democrats and have been identified as having attended the polling, and when you take out the registered democrats who voted at multiple polls, the margin gets smaller.

people like me question his capabilities, competency, loyalty, ethic, integrity, impartiality, presentability, dignity, etc. we wonder why a saudi family paid for his college education. we wonder why all of his educational records are secret, when so many other politicians (klinton included) have made theirs public. we wonder how it was that he bought a house for 40% under market value when on the same day the empty lot next to it was sold to resko by the same seller for triple the market value. he looks like a shady creep, no matter what color he is. if he was purple he would look like an egotistical crook.
