I believe what he is saying is that you need to show a couple of the items he listed. i.e., a drivers license, or a passport, or a greencard. This is at the time of closing for Patriot Act purposes. It may or may not differ with what the loan company requires.

A lot of underwriters will freak out if the applicant doesn't have a greencard (permanent residency), because they assume that the applicant is on a limited duration visa. Which is of course not good for chances of loan repayment if the loan holder leaves the county.

I am not in Florida, We bought a house here in the bay area without any problem, When the loan went to the underwriter they asked for my wife Green card, SSN, she wasn't working at the time so that's all the information we had to give, some hick up came after we bought the house. Even at the underwriter stage they can make snafer when in doubt always ask to speak to a higher up the chain, a manager if not Branch director!

The hick up we get was after the house, trying to get the Cable and other utilities under my wife name to create a credit history since no history i had to put it under my name then add her

Good luck, and hope everything works out for you on your house purchase
