SOO Depressed!!

Well for this of you who have been following my case.... well I'm still waiting!! 46 days since my fingerprint appoinment and still nothing!. The letter I recieved from the Ombudsman stated that If I didn't recieve any updates from USCIS within 45 days of them sending me the notice that stated my case was transfered to the local field office to contact them again. Well I did recieve my fingerprint appointment notice within those 45 days... but nothing since my appointment. I also have not recieved any updates from my local senator.

It's been:

60 days since the letter from the ombudsman telling me my case was transfered to the local field office

and

46 days since I had to retake my fingerprint for ROC because they had expired!

Sooo I was so desperate, I wrote to the Ombudsman again stating that I still feel something isn't getting done.... what could be taking my local field office sooo long to send me something. The two times I've gone to that office it's always empty.

I've now been waiting 16 months for ROC... I wouldn't wish this torture upon anyone....and the worse part of it is my husband is military and he just got notified that we might be moving to another state sooner then what we were previously told. Oh no, everybody knows a change of address doesn't always go smoothly! SORRY for the long story I'm just soo depressed right now!!! :crying:

Apply for naturalization ( N-400) im guessing your elible to apply since it has been 16 mths since you applied for ROC. Applying for N-400 would force adjudication on your ROC. Goodluck!!!

Absolutely go for the N-400 and basically force them to look at your case. You'll probably get approved the day you put your naturalization package in the mail! I waited ten months, went to see my Senator and the next day I had my conditions removed. I'm sure she had nothing to do with it; it was simply a coincidence.

I feel for you. This immigration process is a real ball buster and when it drags on past "normal" processing times, you start speculating about all kinds of things. As my Senator's very busy Immigration Specialist said, '...there is no rhyme nor reason as to why someone gets approved in a couple of months and someone else's case takes more than a year' and she deals with this type of thing all day long.

Do something nice for yourself today; sounds like you need a break from the worrying. Picture yourself opening the approval letter whenever those negative thoughts start getting the better of you. It helped me!

Best wishes,

Jo-Anne

I'm in a similar boat as you. I just came back from an info pass appointment and I was told that my file has been sitting on the "pending interview shelf" since June 9. And they stamped my passport with and extension visa... :(

When I explained to her that I dont want to extend my lease so I plan to move out of my place soon....she said I can send a copy of Address Change Form (AR-11) to the local office just to make sure that they get the address change. This might help with your case also.

Hope you get you interview date or approval soon!

Thanks everybody for the words of encouragement... it's nice to share this with people who actually understand or can somewhat relate.

Birdlover2008 that is a great idea thank you. Well,I do have an update today. I contacted my senator today and she told me that she has a liason at the my local field office. She went ahead and emailed them and said she should have a response within 24 hours. So I'm gonna call her tommorrow to see what they say hopefully it's good news.
