So my SO went to the DFA to try and get her passport AGAIN ....

She is being told she needs another Valid ID .. such as a SSS ( Which we understands takes 1-3 months to get the thing ) or a TIN Card ... well she went to get a tin card and would not give her a card .. just a tin number .. which isn't good enough for the DFA ...

Here is what she has already ....

She isn't in college so doesn't have a school ID

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, she can get an NBI id , it might help ; or go to a travel agency , true it may be a little expensive ; by the way where is your SO now? She still in Manila?

Hi howdy, sorry but contrary of what they said about getting a travel agency to do it.well well you gonna lose a fortune with that.i worked in consultancy agency for many years, once you hand your passport application to them they will start ripping you off.not to mention but there are still other good travel agencies but they are hard to find now a days.

"Abby&sheryl" was right coz they had a good one.i suggest to ask abby and sheryl where is that agency located. or other options, she need to get her Voter's ID ,(not the voters registration)in the nearest COMELEC office. And please advise your fiance not to tell the DFA Staff that she will go to US or other 1st world country to marry her fiance coz they might ask her to go to seminar for CFO again(which she needs it later after she gets her visa)but not the time shes getting passport.Advise her to tell them she just wanna go ASIA for tour thats why she needs the passport.Better ask your fiance if she kept some old id's from her elementary school. If they really want her SSS ID tell her to start working on it apply for a self employed.(this is only an option). If shes still in Manila she can go to COMELEC office to claim her VOTERS ID.Just show her voters registration to them and fill out a form that shes requesting for a voters ID.

best regards,

rach

hi, I got mine from a travel agency, they will accept Birth cerft and NBI. I just paid 1,200. Then after 5 days, they called me again for appearance schedule in DFA, it took me not more than 30 mins, i didnt fall in line anymore, the agency sent someone to wait for me at the gate and escorted me inside. that's it. then they called me to pick up my passport at their office w/c is just 15mins away from where i live.

I thought postal ID and voter's registration are valid ID's in the Philippines.

OFFICIAL DFA ONLINE APPLICATION...

http://www.passport.com.ph/app/apply/application_form.php

don't bother with the Travel Agency, she still needs to appear in person.

Use this site instead, it will cost 2x as much as if she went in and get in line...

but should be easier and less hassle. As far as I can tell, you got all requirements completed.

Which DFA office is this? Is this in Cebu? I had some stupid guy in the Cebu DFA (checker) deny me the first time in getting a passport since he was not contented with some of the details on my birth certificate - saying that it was too blurred to decipher, etc... Duh, as if that's my fault, right? So I was so disappointed, I could cry. I went over to where the security guard is and she told me to try to fall in line again and fill out another form and pray that I don't get the same dumba*s sonofagun to be my checker hat denied me the first time. Truth to it, I got a very nic lady this time. She took my papers in without any hassles.

If that doesn't work, your fiancee may opt to escalate her case to the DFA director in the Cebu office at the 2nd floor of the same building. Let that know know about your case and show them your documents. You'll realize they are not that hard to deal with.

I swear I would have loved to wring that checker's neck to deny me the first time though.

Hope all goes well.

Thanks for all the replies ....

She is going to the DFA office in Tacloban, Leyte .... the guy she got there told her she needed to get her cfo certificate and another valid ID he would not accept her postal ID as a valid ID ...

Luckily we figured out what to do about getting a tin card .... she went to a local bank and asked the guard there what ID's she could use to open a bank account ... long story short she ended up at the exact SAME BIR office that told her she couldn't get a tin card .... but this time she asked the guard how she gets a tin card .... by the time she left she filled out the application ... and will receive a tin card within 15 days .... it was like the first time she went there it was a BIG secret about getting this stupid card ... I just don't quite understand all the run around we get sometimes there ....
