Wow that is interesting stuff! My hubby is in El Mahalla, Egypt and he says the heat is like living in hell. They have A/C but rarely use it and rely on fans instead. I swear when I see my MIL on webcam in all her covering it makes me start sweating myself! LOL. I think my hubby will really not miss the hot weather in Egypt.

I have issues with my feet being hot, then i'm not able to sleep. so i frequently use a wet towel and press my feet onto it (even here in oregon, where it's not super hot)... i may try the wet sheet thing when i go back to Cairo this summer. I'm scared.

When our a/c was broke for a week Waleed had actually suggested the wet towel to cover my body. My feet did feel like they were drying splitting and burning as if I walked on hot coals each day.

I'm the same way. I have not been out of the house in weeks (unless absolutely necessary). It's hotter this year than last year.

Having been in Cairo for about 24 hours now, I will answer the question "hot in Egypt?" with a resounding "YES."

Thank God we have AC in the bedroom, but I feel bad for my daughter, sleeping in her room with a fan only. She doesn't seem to mind the heat, though.

Actually, the last couple of days have been fairly cool compared to how hot it's been lately. Still in the 90's, but every little drop helps.

I am meant to be in Cairo in the middle of a 6 month secondment, thankfully it got delayed so I should be going over when it is a "little" bit cooler. I've been to Egypt quite a few times with work, but never at this time of year.
