Hello All,

I am filing a K3 visa and have yet to receive a NOA2 for the i-129f or approval of my i-130 but I was little worried from reading all the threads about police reports.

This may sound like a dumb question but is it adviseable if my husband starts requesting police reports now from all the countries in which he has lived (Turkey, Cyprus and Ghana) even though we have not recieved any other approvals or NOA2 for the I-129f and i-130?

And if that answer is a yes, my next question is, is there an expiration date of the police reports (i.e. if my husband's interview is next year, and he gets the police report 2 months from now, do you think the embassy will say that the police reports he obtained are too old?)

Thank you in advance to all the members for helpful, encouraging responses...

Also, if anyone could also share their experiences and/or advice on obtaining police reports from Ghana, Cyprus or Turkey that would also be very helpful to me and my husband as well!

You might want to try the Regional threads for those countries to get a more 'local' info about the expirations of the reports - I know some (if not most) countries take an age to get them processed so getting them in advance is good (depending on how long they are valid for..) - even in the UK the police report took 40 days to acquire - and I *DID* get mine way earlier than I needed it to avoid further dealys at packet 3 stage - but the UK one is valid for 12 months so I was confident (ish, lol) that I'd get an interview before it ran out.

I started trying to get mine way early as it took a while. Presumably if he has not been back to the country since the police report was issued that it does not matter if it is out of date. Several countries seem to have 1 month before it expires on their reports but frankly it would be too complicated to try to get the timing of receiving the report at just the right time correct... maybe someone with experience of having been through the visa interview with 'out of date' police reports can tell us if it was a problem???
