Oh Charles, believe me, she only ever had one address.

1 Mommy and Daddy Drive

Mothersville, NJ

I will get him to change the locks though.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

So, my brother in law received divorce papers yesterday from the bridezilla.

She's claiming severe emotional abuse

She wants half my brother in laws condo and she wants him to pay half of her debts.

How funny is that?

Wow, I haven't read this thread in a while! So they ended up getting married and they separated a couple weeks later? Geez, this is such a crazy story! I guess in the end she got her ridiculous white wedding without the commitment of marriage and he got to get away from her psycho ####.

Sorry for your brother thetreble, I can only imagine how hard this must be for him...

Hey Treble! I read this thread from start to finish and all the while I was thinking OMG I can totally relate. Except the witch-in-law, err I mean SIL isnt officially a SIL yet, shes still future-SIL and same deal, my hunnys family doesnt like her and SIL hates me and I hate her back and everyone (including the future BIL's best friend, coworkers and her own dog  ) can see how evil she is... except my poor future BIL who just seems to blind and oblivious to her. I think its bec theyve been together for so long that he thinks marrying her is the right thing to do which maybe is why your BIL did that... *shrug*

Anyway from pages 1-10 or so, I was all angry and thinking "OMG what a selfish, selfish, selfish witch! And forget the card youre gonna give your BIL, you should just pay the retainer's fee for a divorce lawyer, send him the contract with a card "because you will need it" " Well it seems that advice is no longer needed because things appear to have "fixed" themselves in a matter of weeks!

I am really glad that your "in-law" family saw her for what she is and voiced their opinions to him. Nothing like marrying the wicked witch of the block and nobody telling you what you are doing (which is the problem in my case).

With regards to the quote above -- arent there state laws that protect the assets of each individual in a short-term marriage? My future BIL was married to another witch before and she filed for divorce within 1 year of marriage and tried to take him to the cleaners. Well, she could not get a cent from him as MD laws dont "merge" your assets until after 2-3 years of marriage (I believe). I hope there is something like that where you are...

Regardless, I am glad your BIL did what he did... he saved himself from a lifetime of mistakes :P And I am also really happy for you. Imagine if they are still together a few years from now, she would be the "aunt" to your kids? *SHIVER*

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I am real late to this party, so forgive me, but after having just read all 14 pages, I am in awe and shock of the situation. This poor guy absolutely should not have gone through with that wedding. The wrong judge in a divorce can destroy him financially.

He needs to try and get the marriage annulled.

Good God, what a complete nightmare. Good luck to him.

Well, I have to admit - the grounds for divorce are absolutely correct - severe emotional abuse. The only problem is, she was the abuser!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
