Waiver for one vaccine from the consular doctor

When I had my medical, the doctor didn't want to give the the TdaP shot because I had very recently had a Td shot, so he marked "insufficient time interval". Now I read in the HPV thread that vaccine waiver requests can add months to your timeline. Is that true for the kind of waiver I was marked for?

(If it is true, I better get that shot, even though I had a bad reaction to the Td shot and would thus rather not do it again at such a short interval... :( )

no, you aren't getting a waiver like in the other case. The other case is a refusal to get the vaccine, yours is an insufficiant time interval meaning, you already had one and its too close to give another so you didnt need to get it. No worries on that! The gardasil vaccine gets marked the same way if you get the shot, say 2 weeks, before the medical, its too soon for the next shot, so it is also marked insufficient time interval. You are good to go :D:thumbs:

You will get a small annotation on your actual visa which acts as your waiver. You do not have to do anything other than submit your medical at the interview.

Good luck.
