I just sent an email to the embassy in jerusalem regarding my husbands case. He had interview on june 23rd but they requested a letter from me, which the embassy already has. AFTER the email i got an auto response saying random things, like it generally takes 4-5 days to respond, and it actually has a list of frequently asked questions and one of them was this:

Q: Can I pick up the visa the same day?

A: Because of the administrative processing associated with visa issuance, it is not possible to issue visas on the same day of the interview. Assuming that the applicant appears with all required documents and the case does not require additional administrative processing, the visa could be ready in as little as one week. However, most cases do require additional processing, and this can take significant time. Please do not make travel plans until you have your visa in hand. Visas will be returned to applicants when they are ready by courier.

My question is, the co told my husband everything is perfect in your file we just need a letter from your wife "no tax note" and well call you to drop off your passport because this isnt a major problem. He got a 221g with no tax note written on it and on the bottom it says...if your submission meets the requirments then theyll ask him to drop off his passport. The 221 g didnt state that it needed additonal processing just this letter. But reading this particualr section from the auto response got me soo down. IS this a normal thing for ALL embassies to state about the visa issuance, Ive read some mena interviews where additonal documents were requested and they had no problems getting the visa shortly afterwards. i realy hope all goes well. Hope to hear from some MENAS soon.

"no tax note" ? Hmmmm. You might call them to ask what they mean by no tax note. Did you fill out an I-864 and include all of your tax return info. or were you exempt from paying taxes and failed to write a note explaining that? Edited by DieNörglerin

Thats a FAQ on almost all of the embassy websites. Im sure they just sent you the list of FAQ's and it has nothing to do specifically with your case. Try not to get depressed now. You need to stay positive and wait for the real responce from the consulate.

Good Luck and do let us know what they say

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
