Hi,

Anyone out there know of any of those Buy Now, Pay Later (like in 6 - 12 months) type stores in the Baltimore area? Don't want to add the cost of new furniture to this whole process right now.

you may try rooms 2 go. they usaly have 18 months financing..

but you have to pay up the sales tax frist.

You realise they're mostly 'buy now, pay forever'? You'd be better off buying stuff from the thriftstore or yardsales etc and then getting good stuff when you can afford to put the cash on the table.

I bought my desktop and laptop like that, and the trick is to pay the bill off in full by the due date, or else all interest that accrued is due.

It's a good program, IF you can be diligant enough to keep ontop of when it's due, and of course, providing you have the cash when that time comes.

By all means, wait till you have cash to put on the table. Just don't actually put it on the table. With interest rates as high as they are, take that money and use it to generate some interest. Then pay it off in full before your interest-free promotion period ends. Pocket the interest generated. Give yourself a discount on that furniture.

The item in particular that we need is a bed. Unfortunately, I can't bring my stuff into the US yet (I am planning on staying on a visitor's visa until interview date). I would rather not buy a mattress second hand, and would like to hold off on any big purchases until closer to the date that I will be working.

So that being said ... any ideas at all for stores that provide "buy now, pay forever" options in the Baltimore area would be MUCH appreciated.
