Not sure if they give classes for the civics test, but if you like to learn US history through classes you can get enrolled at a (community) college and follow the two US history classes they offer. I took them online, but it takes a whole semester. You could purchase just the books and read it, there is a lot more covered in the classes offered than asked at the civic test.

Seems to me if you can memorize or the terms used in Biology or Biochemistry, just remembering the answers to a hundred questions should be a snap for you. Wife is very good at medical terminology, civics test was also a snap for her. It's not that you have to explain anything, ask you what is the color of the flag, you snap back, red, white, and blue. What is the supreme law of the land? You snap back US Constitution. Six questions like this, and you are done.

We went over the test twice while driving to our USCIS office, that's about all it takes, good luck.

What I have also found useful is to purchase the Civics Flash Cards for the New Naturalization Test, printed by USCIS. You can order them through any US Government bookstore. They have the actual question on one side and the answer on the reverse. You can go through them, decide which ones you already know, then select the ones that you don't and keep reviewing them over and over until you do know them. Much easier and faster than a class. I have never seen any classes offered for the US naturalization test.

Collie,

I agree with Nick that there is no need for clases for you. But I know how you feel. I felt the same way. In my case I decided to create a little help in form of a simple online quiz. I'd say, if you spend some time with it you will soon see that you can go thru all 100 questions with out any problems. If you want to check my quiz tool out you can do so here:

http://mysite.verizon.net/amaruk/tests/NewCivicsTest.html

The questions are random but no question is repeated until all 100 questions have been shown.

Good luck and relax. You'll be just fine!!

If there's some sort of immigrants' advocacy group or similar community organization, ask them. You might also ask around at adult education or community education programs.

Lucy took a class, and I attended a few sessions. The class really drilled the specifics of the civics test, along with going through all the fields of the N-400, and learning all the requirements for naturalization. The instructor was experienced, and had the benefit of having reports of interview and oath experiences from many former students who had been through the class and dealt with local immigration offices. The class was offered by Canal Alliance, at http://www.canalalliance.org , but that organization is a small local organization serving our area, so it probably doesn't help you so much.

A general civics class is nice background, and I'd encourage any new or prospective citizen to take such a class on general principles, but what you really need for naturalization is to study and know all 100 questions they have on their list. You can get this specific knowledge by yourself or through a naturalization class. But if you don't study those specific questions, it's easily possible you could take two semesters of community college civics and still miss a few of the naturalization questions. So study those naturalization questions.

Hello There! Promised you don't have to go to a class for your citizenship test, they gave you a booklet with audio just read and play the audio(memorization only) and 100% you will passed. It's easy I just took my test last wed. @ jacksonville with new naturalization test it's easy they will give 10 questions if you answered 6 correctly then you passed okey.

Goodluck!

We requested that civics study guide at our fingerprinting session last year with a booklet and the audio CD. Audio CD has a very long track with questions and explanations, then just the questions and answers. May talk about confusing a person with facts, we just went with the smaller track. Since we were at the edge of the new test, downloaded just the questions and answers on that and printed it off just in case they would have sprung that test on us. Had more geography type questions, but my wife knew all those from living here and studying about the USA. Was more like a trivia quiz.

I say us, because we studied it together, it wasn't my wife getting her USC, it was us getting her USC, we were both strapped down with the USCIS and we were both limited with her green card restrictions.

Not much different than studying for the DMV test.

I know we aren't to this stage yet, but we are trying to really stay on the ball with everything. Thank you for sharing this quiz with everyone. Being the USC, its amazing how many answers I got wrong or off just a bit on  I'm going to continue to study right along with my husband, because it made me feel rather ashamed that I didn't know more about my own country.

I''ll step back out of the conversation, but just had to say "Thanks! Much Appreciated" :)

I used the civics flash card too and this very useful tool online with audio (similar to the Audio Cd they give out when you get your biometrics done for N-400), it helps with the pronunciation too.

Since I'm going through the naturalization process and I am starting an E-Learning application design and development module in September for my BSc degree, I'm considering creating a US naturalization E-Learning application for my computer science project. Should be interesting! But I'm afraid you'll have to wait until next March before that's complete. :D
