Since being short on required income last year, though this years income is

clearly high enough and they dont care..

I have a few questions about JOINT SPONSORS.

1. DOES THE JOINT SPONSOR NEED TO LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD?

2. IS THERE A DIFFERENT FORM THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED OUT

BY THE JOINT SPONSOR OTHER THAN THE I-864a

( WHEN JOINT SPONSOR RESIDES IN A DIFFERENT HOME) ( IS A RELATIVE)

IF I DO NOT FIND A JOINT SPONSOR:

3. CAN I REFILE A NEW I-864 FINANCIAL AFFIDAVIT NEXT YEAR ( 2010)

TO SHOW HOW HIGH 2009 INCOME WILL BE?

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

FRUSTRATED AND ALONE...LARA

Well, I don't know much about the joint sponsorship, but I know I didn't make enough last year either; I was unemployed for about 3 or 4 months out of the year, but I got a new job in May of that year. So I sent in my tax forms and a letter from my employer stating that with my new job, I would be meeting thier requirements. My I-864 was approved without a joint sponsor on my income alone (I also don't have ANYTHING in my savings accounts) AND I have a dependent (my 5 year old son whom I don't get support from his father). Like you, I am also applying for a CR-1 visa for my husband. So unless they've already rejected your I-864 or told you personally that you need a joint-sponsor, you might want to try it alone if you make enough with the job you have now. Hope this helps. Doesn't really answer your question regarding joint-sponsorship, but it might give you something to consider. :)

I traveled alot in 2008... without pay and

MY husband had his interview May 18, they ask for joint sponsor

2008 income was just under the amount needed to do it alone

I sent in proof of current income 2009.. which is clearly high enough

they still ask for a joint sponsor

I have a few questions about JOINT SPONSORS.

1. DOES THE JOINT SPONSOR NEED TO LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD?

No, they do not need to live with you, be in the same city/state or even be a relative.

2. IS THERE A DIFFERENT FORM THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED OUT

BY THE JOINT SPONSOR OTHER THAN THE I-864a

( WHEN JOINT SPONSOR RESIDES IN A DIFFERENT HOME) ( IS A RELATIVE)

Would complete the I-864 just like the Sponsor

IF I DO NOT FIND A JOINT SPONSOR:

3. CAN I REFILE A NEW I-864 FINANCIAL AFFIDAVIT NEXT YEAR ( 2010)

TO SHOW HOW HIGH 2009 INCOME WILL BE?

If you mean to do so to aleviate any responsibility a co-sponsor would have - I do not believe this is possible.
